Last year we had dinner at Lucrezia Italian Restaurant, Crown Point Indiana. As you can see I gave rave reviews. SO what happened. Since they were rated #15 in the region for restaurants, I believe this year they will falter. We had family and friends from out of State in this past weekend. I did speak very highly of this location. Raved not only about the food, but the service. Now knowing it was Friday night, and rightly so, they would be busy. So we arrived around 7ish. The hostess took our name and was aware there were 5 of us. She stated it would be 30 to 35 minutes as there was a couple before us and some customers wee ready to leave. Hey, I get it. Not a big deal. Patrons came in and the same spiel was given them. A few had a party of 3 one couple had also arrived. The hostess took their names. Grant it they had a small group, and a small table opened up. While we were there, now 45 minutes waiting and watching small groups come in and be seated, several 4-somes came in. Same spiel, 30-35 minutes. Now we been waiting 50 minutes. She took the 4-some groups and seated them. O.K., so, I went to her and asked why. She stated she only had tables for 4. So, you mean you can't put a chair for the 5th person at the table. She said sorry and said another 15 minutes. Again and again, two sets of 4's came in. They were seated almost immediately. I go up there to inquire, and she said, "What group are you with?" REALLY!!! We been sitting there close to an hour!We decided to go elsewhere. After being embarrassed in front of my family and friends, I had it. IF THIS restaurant can not get decent help hostessing, maybe they should either fire the hostess, or have someone who knows what they are doing!I will NEVER return to Lucrezia again, especially after being treated the way we were treated. We were understanding it was Friday evening and they were busy. The kicker was, a lot of servers were standing around and the hostess was being giggly with the new patrons that were coming in. If I could give zero stars for this unfriendly restaurant I would. I also will NOT vote this year for them.We ended up going to Station 21 with our party. They too were busy. We were welcomed with open arms and were seated within 10 minutes. Additionally, Station 21 food is outstanding and their service impeccable. If you want professional service, Lucrezia, is a place to avoid. Very terrible experience.I would recommend avoiding this restaurant.Parking: A Place to avoid

Very nice, old remodeled house creates a unique restaurant atmosphere. Beautiful wood fixtures. Food was really good. The table top was very small and we got seated 2” from a serving/bussing table so that diminished the experience. Worth a visit though.

I worked here in the kitchen in 1980-81, when it was Louis’s Bon Appetit’. One of my first real jobs. A wonderful place to come back to and reminisce about, this mansion has such a rich history of satisfying diners! The newest Italian restaurant is phenomenal and is a great place to enjoy a meal and cocktail. You can’t go wrong coming here.

The waitstaff is AWESOME! Tony was our waiter and he was very friendly and attentive. His demeanor makes you smile. Our drinks were never empty. The food tastes amazing! Portions are reasonable for the prices. I would definitely recommend this place!! The only thing I could say would be a con is that it is very loud.

Nice restaurant with a full bar. The food was good, but was a bit pricey for what we received, IMO. Good service and a quaint atmosphere.

We came on a Monday, when they had half off wine bottles. I enjoyed the Saccheti for my entree and highly recommend. We finished off with a chocolate cake with raspberry sauce. Everything was lovely, will return!

Very disappointed....... I'm very disappointed in this locally run restaurant. We planned to celebrate my children's birthday yesterday at Lucretia. I knew that we were going to be a large party of 10. 10 people is sometimes hard to accommodate on a Saturday night so I phoned a couple weeks ahead to confirm that there would not be a problem accommodating us. I was told, over the phone, that reservations were not accepted but there would be not problem " getting us in" at 5:30 pm. I explained to the gentleman on the phone that we had children coming with us and it was imperative that we were able to be seated at our arrival. I asked him if coming earlier would be better. He assured me that there would be no problem with us dining at 5:30pm; they would make it work. We arrived around 5:20pm. We were told at that time that there was a 40 minute wait. I was a little upset because I was told there was not going to be a problem being seated at 5:30 pm. Reluctantly, we waited and waited, and waited because we didn't have reservations anywhere else and it would be difficult at that time of night to walk in and be seated anywhere local. I checked in with the hostesses after an hour and told them that the kids need to eat and we are fine with being split up into smaller groups at this point just so that we can eat. The two girls ( hostesses) response was that they were waiting for a specific party to leave for us to be seated. The manager chimes in that it would ruin the mood of the night if we couldn't be seated together. During the hour that we had been waiting, more than 8 couples and small groups had been seated. Now 7:00 approaches, 1 1/2 hours later.... The kids are beyond hungry. The adults are getting cranky themselves. My children, whose birthday it is, just want to go home. We are making plans to go to a fast food restaurant so that we can eat. We are finally seated at 7:10pm. We were given a couple plates of bruschetta for our long wait and miscommunication. Hmm.... I do not believe I will be giving this restaurant my business again. Very disappointing. The food was good but not worth all the hassle! -
