Usually a good spot. Service has been pretty bad lately and steadily gotten worse. Tonight’s dinner was over cooked, partly due to an appetizer ordered as an entree coming out early and the bartender quickly taking it back and shoving it in the oven like we didn’t see it come out. Steak was way over cooked, drinks weren’t refilled, place wasn’t busy either. Just nobody cared.
Service was terrible! Too dark inside( poor lighting ), they cram you in like sardines ! I’ll pass on this place.
Don’t ever eat here. Ever. This place just ruined Father’s Day. A whole round of cold baked potatoes, 3 of 4 $80 steaks cooked wrong, two refires cooked wrong a second time. I got the wrong chicken entree and both sides wrong, and the second round of chicken was a sheet of rubber. I had to chase down a manager to even confirm my meal was taken off the bill, and she was clearly irritated even addressing it when I went to speak to her. I just had to walk out of Father’s Day dinner starving and it should never happen for a place charging over $300 for five people.
Restaurant is nice all staff was friendly and accommodating!

Great food and service. The space is a little tight and parking is limited.
Parking: Had to walk a block for parking.

Prime steakhouse is one of the best upscale restaurants in Crown Point and my favorite place to go for special occasions. Each steak dinner is around $40 to $50 but worth every penny. The service is professional and friendly and the atmosphere is more fine dining. There is no dress code to my knowledge but it's located right inside "The Square" which is the center of downtown Crown Point and there are plenty of other places and things to do in that area before or after you eat. I definitely recommend the dry aged bone-in Rib Eye Steak but the fillet also melts in your mouth as well!
Parking: The restaurant is located on the square of downtown Crown Point so finding parking can be tricky. You can either get lucky and find a spot off the square depending on the day and time or you can park off the square and walk a block or two. It's not very inconvenient but handicap patrons might want to be aware or get dropped off at the front door just in case.

The place is nice and clean, but the food is not good. The waitress is courteous. We ordered salad for lunch. It was large and stacked with green but missing flavor and taste. Not so appetizing.

Expected better quality for Chicken Marsala. Chicken was not tender and pounded out. Described as lightly floured but did not seem to have any coating on it. Tasted like teriyaki chicken with mushrooms on top.

I have been to a lot of steakhouses, and this was by far the best steak I have ever had.

They do not have a gluten free menu, nor gluten free items on the menu marked. However, our waitress, Tiffany, was plenty knowledgeable of gluten free and the menu to be able to guide me. I didn't (and never do) try anything out of the box and went with the tried and true steak, mashed potatoes, and asparagus with creme brulee for dessert.
It was all very good, and I did not get sick. Our entire party mostly enjoyed their meals - one member happened to get a poor cut of filet. I'm going to assume the restaurant did not know it was a poor cut and we just happened to be the unlucky ones to get served it. Otherwise everything was great.
Dietary restrictions: See full review, but no issues as a Celiac. Thanks to meat being very plentiful on this menu, I'd say this restaurant could also serve those who are keto and possibly dairy free, as well.

I wish they had an option for NO stars!!!! This experience deserves a complete THUMBS DOWN.
We “dined” here on 8/3/2024. We placed a $200 deposit to reserve the SMALL space upstairs that was not big enough to accommodate our 15 person party but we allowed that to slide because it was a 19th birthday celebration. We ordered our food, four of the meals were Salmon. All four of the meals the were “disgusting”. We asked for them to be changed. The manager Mia told us that she went to the kitchen and tried the fish and it was “ nothing wrong with it”. Three of the four people explained to her the concern and asked for the meal to be taken back… she refused. We then explained that we were not willing to pay for food that we were not pleased with AND then was not eaten. One of the four people ate a fourth of it so we were willing to pay for it. Mia refused again and walked away saying “ THEY WILL BE ON YOUR BILL” Our total bill came to $994. We subtracted the three uneaten meals from the bill which came to a total of 86.10 and were willing to pay the rest of the bill INCLUDING all of the tip for the waitress ( we didn’t remove the 20% for those three meals). She called CROWN POINT POLICE as if we were trying to skip out on paying the bill. Thank God for Crown Point Police. When they arrived we explained the situation. Even they were in disbelief. They saw all three pictures of the untouched meals (we took pictures because they were trying to discarded them before the police arrived). The police said the call they received from Mia was that a party was skipping out on the meal but saw that WE were all calmly at the entrance with the bill and money in hand. Even a few patrons of the restaurant said “ they were trying to pay for what they ate”. This experience was degrading and humiliating. Needless to say we only paid for what we ate. WE will NEVER step foot in this establishment again. I will let anybody that mentions this restaurant know about this horrific experience. Pictures of all three meals and the one that we were willing to pay for because a part of it was eaten. BEWARE.
