Frida's Mexican Cuisine and Pancake House

I have been a ten year patron of fridas and usually enjoy the food…. But the quality of the steak specifically has Been terrible. They charge premium prices for subpar fatty tough steak that is not edible and goes to the dog. I also have a problem when ordering takeout. The order is usually wrong after being very specific on the phone and then they tell me that is how it comes… and I wasn’t charged for what I was asking for. Good luck fridas … I won’t be back.

Frida’s is adorable. This small town staple is a must stop. They have EVERYTHING on the menu. From cinnamon French toast to Philly cheesesteak to Greek salad. The theme is, yes, based on the noted artist, Frida Khalo. The interior is loud florals and murals inspired by her life’s work.

I ordered brunch and enjoyed a traditional meal of eggs (cooked to order), bacon, grits, and biscuits and gravy. I asked for my eggs over medium, they were perfect. Not too runny, just right. Bacon was thick and crispy. My family shared cinnamon French toast and it brought back nostalgic memories of Saturday mornings with cartoons in the background. I tried their house-made salsas and they were delightful. Their red is currently available for purchase by the bottle, their green is only available for carry out purchase. I will be going home with both!

If you are ever driving past or staying around Culver, you should make this at least one of your meals.

After ordering breakfast for my kids, I received my order with 1 waffle. As per the order name I assumed I ordered a full order of waffleS. Knowing that things can get mixed up, especially when things are busy, I called to confirm what I ordered, and they explained that it is only 1 waffle and that they could change what the menu said. I said it was probably a good idea as I could see other people being confused by this. The lady on the phone then laughed at me and said I was the only one in 6 years. Personally, I feel that was severely disrespectful, I wasn't asking for compensation, just clarity.

Excellent food and service...I highly recommend this place!!! 5 STAR PLACE TO EAT!!!

Taco salad is pretty good especially for the $9.99 price. Nice crispy fried tortilla bowl type. Ask for beans on the side to keep it crispy. The shredded stewed chicken is really good. Very flavorful but not spicy.
Ambience is like a diner with Mexican flare.
