This place is great! Reasonably priced. Great service (food came out in like five minutes). Nice people. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. It's more of a local watering can, hole in the wall type place, but it's an enjoyable time out. Food was better than your average bar food. Close to the beach. We walked to the beach from there. Good place to go after playing volleyball at the beach or hanging out at the beach for laid back atmosphere and food/drinks. I would go back.

When Quotron Systems were operational at 5454 Beethoven Street (just up the road) 1982 the Shack was THE place. I particularly enjoyed the Shack Burger including the sausage.. Espiacilly the hot sausage. Visiting memory lane shortly (April '22) very happy to see the Shack continues- an amazing sports eatery Soo you soon JohnB

I have never tried anything more delicious than a Louisiana hot link on top of a burger with American cheese. If you love burgers and fries you gotta come to this place it's a wonderful little place tucked in the back right near the water. I definitely recommend a shack burger

Good dive bar by the beach and the staff are friendly. Parking is pretty good and the food is decent overall. Good spot to grab a beer and hangout.

I've seen a few reviews about how good the food is, umm yea no!! My husband decided to stop here and we live 10 minutes away. Why did my food taste, look and fell apart (literally) like he had to go over the river and through the woods. I mean, it's a freaking burger and fries at noon on a Wednesday. I'm just really upset because I waited a couple of hours to eat and this is what I got. I would have been more satisfied with a toasted pb&j.

The food was fantastic, but what left a bad taste in my mouth was the horrendous attitude displayed by Carly, the front cashier. Our food was thrown down on our table like we were an inconvenience, despite our bill being over $100. My friends came in for a birthday celebration and were significantly less happy after we left. Overall, everything else was wonderful, including the other staff members. It's unfortunate that the first person that greets you when you walk in is clearly an unhappy person who doesn't want to be employed by this company.

Let's start with how good my Burger was: amazing. I got the pineapple Burger every time I came and I was not disappointed at any time. I also got a side of fries and they were some of the best I could ask for. Everything was good perfectly and tasted great, no complaints whatsoever. The atmosphere when we came was calm, but thats during lunch and when they open so not too many people. But when some regulars show up, its gets loud with laughs and plenty of friendly customers that get to chat it up with the staff. All in all, I enjoyed my visits. Came here 3/4 days I was working in the area and all 3 times were exactly the same. Sadly this is not my home and I probably won't be back anytime soon, but for those in the area, you're lucky because I recommend this place .

My husband wanted me to try The Shack, he said their burgers were delicious. I was looking forward to trying the famous Shack burger. Let me begin to say how disappointed I was, and it was not because of the food. Let's look past the fact that the restaurant could use a deep cleaning, and dive straight to the cross contamination. There was a gentleman behind the counter taking a drink from his water bottle while wearing gloves, he then proceeded to build the food order he was finishing up while still wearing those same gloves! Big red flag. He then walked around the counter and served the food to the customers while wearing the same gloves he prepped the food with. We ordered our food with a polite young woman and found a table to sit near the bar. As we were waiting for our food I watched the same gentleman wait tables, pick up used empty glasses from tables, and pull a garbage can using a rag, but his hand was still touching the bag, by this point he still had the same gloves on! Mind you I was keeping an eye on him because I saw that he was touching everything tables chairs, etc, and I would have complained if he put my order together. At this point I had not seen him once change his gloves. I was relieved to see the young woman who took our order put our food together. Once we got our food it smelled delicious, but that feeling was quickly wiped away as I saw him behind the counter prepping orders again. Disclaimer I didn't see the precise moment he got behind the counter so I cannot firmly say he changed his gloves before he started prepping food. What I can say is that it is highly likely he did not since he kept transitioning between cleaning tables, hugging customers, walking around the bar then returning to the kitchen. I was sad that I could not enjoy the burger with out thinking how disgusted I felt. I did not get his name but he is loud and makes his presence known. It also seemed as if a lot of the customers know him. He had a small ponytail and tanned skin, about 6' ft tall. We will definitely not be returning!!

Very cool place. According to Boris (a long time customer who I sat next to) it hasn't changed since he first ate there in 1977. The customers are fun and the bar tenders are awesome! I had the Shack Burger with cheese is amazing. I wasn't expecting it from the description but it was recommended to me by a local friend: Gary. It might be the best burger that I have ever had. Great place. Check it out if you are in town!
