Very nice local restaurant. They have great food and a really reasonable price. Janice Lynn Gregory has used the facility for years and loves it is so convenient for her she's not able to cook like she used to and they have great home-cooked meals.

Took the pic after started eating it! Always happy with the breakfast skillets. I typically get the house skillet and add some gravy to the top! You can get breakfast served all day. It's a hole in the wall, nothing fancy spot, but the servers are attentive and always topping off your coffee.

Waitress didn't check on us at all for refills or water. Our waitress looked like she was mad that she had to be there

I ordered a Sirloin and it had a funny taste, was the driest steak I had ever ate. I took 2 bites of it and that was it. The steak looked and tasted like it had been thrown in a microwave out of the freezer and then thrown on the grill. It was hard and tough. The mashed potatoes were instant and tasted awful, they tasted like watered down instant potatoes, but worse. The corn and soup tasted decent.
I told the waitress I couldn't eat it and told her the exact same as I put above. She took the plate away, I assumed I would've got something knocked off the bill, but nope. My husband did eat his burger and said it wasn't bad. Our bill was $44, I just paid it and we will never be back. I waited tables for 25 years, and as a server, I would've seen if I could've given the customer a discount seeing as they couldn't eat the food. Our server took my salad before I could even tell her I wasn't done with it as well. We hadn't even left the parking lot and I began throwing up. I knew the meat wasn't good, even those 2 bites got me sick. I was VERY disappointed and their prices for the quality of their food doesn't match at all.

Classic family diner. Quaint feel, reminds me of somewhere my dad would take us for a family breakfast on the weekend. Good food, good service.

I’ve been to Steve’s several times. It’s your average small town diner with decent food. We went on a busy Sunday morning and were treated so rude. We were a group of 5 (myself and 4 young adults). We weren’t greeted, which was not a big deal since they were busy. I used to be a server so I get being busy. They told us to sit anywhere that was clean and set up. One of us did a quick walk of the restaurant, but no tables were available. So we waited quietly. Another family came in. They were waiting next to us. The woman ringing out a customer loudly said to another server “I don’t know what they are doing I told them to sit wherever ever is clean and set up and they didn’t move”. I said “there’s nothing cleaned or set up”. She said to another server, with attitude “she says there’s nothing cleaned or set up” and gave me a look of contempt. So we walked out and went somewhere else (Heather’s in Wheatfield, always nice and good food). I’ve never been treated so poorly while quietly and patiently waiting to be seated. I was truly caught off guard. We weren’t complaining. We weren’t even talking amongst ourselves. The server was clearly overwhelmed, but that is no excuse to be rude and unwelcoming.

Always come here every Tuesday afternoon or at least once a week if possible. Always great service and food. The workers work their hardest even when it's packed. Very good all around.
The best

Always a good place for good food
This is my second time going there the food is excellent but there was somebody that seemed very angry that was trying to put a table together but not wiping it down can someone else came along and did the same thing. The table I was at was clean so that's good. I wish I could add a pic.
Small town atmosphere. Great tasting food. Amazing service.
We stopped in on Sunday and were not acknowledged at all until I asked the woman ringing someone up if we seat ourselves or wait, since no one said anything to us while we waited there for a couple minutes wondering. She very rudely said "You will be seated when a table is cleaned," in a very dry, unwelcoming tone and not even looking up at me. Bad look for the restaurant as first time guests. I understand it was busy and they are understaffed, but treat your customers like they aren't a bother to you. How hard was it to look up and say, "Welcome, we will be with you as soon as a table is cleaned. Just give us a second."
We left.
Having Steve, the owner, wait on yous a hoot. He is always friendly and attentive, and every meal we have been served has been very good. Look folks, this little place is Demott's version of a big city, greasy spoon. Do not expect super clean rest rooms, fancy silverware or gourmet meals. Take it for what it is a friendly, local resturant. If there is a legtimate problem with your food or service, ask for Steve, Gary J.
