It's hit or miss with this place . Sometimes the service is good other times it's not. The pricing is a little much for not getting a lot of food. It's minimal. Service of waitress varies depending on who it is. I almost got up and went to a different restaurant since I sat a good 10 minutes before server acknowledging my husband and I. (I get that there is only 1 waitress, as a business I would figure they would have more help when it's breakfast hours) . There are not many options on other places to go and eat around here. So.etimes the food taste good sometimes its not.sometimes service is good and sometimes the waitress has a attitude.

I know... what am I doing in English, Indiana? Lol, visiting the beautiful Patoka Lake, of course. Woke up and wanted breakfast! I'm a sucker for mom and pop shops, so the kid and I ventured through the beautiful countryside and found this hidden gem. We had something extremely basic, but those pancakes had to have been flipped by God himself! They were fluffy, hot, crispy, and buttery! The bacon was crispy and incredibly flavorful. I almost wanted to ask if someone was in the back slicing up the pig's stomach. Before we left, we got a togo for my better half. All I'm gonna say is get the cheese steak! They forgot the cheese, but by the time it was noticed, the sandwich was gone. We left there full and in great spirits! Good job y'all!

I've been here a number of times and have absolutely no complaints. It seems to cater mostly to the older crowd, so it's a bit old fashioned. But let them have it while they're here.

Kid-friendliness: I don't know what I'm supposed to say. Kids get kid stuff, no crayons or coloring books like at Denny's or anything. If you need that crap then go to Denny's or something.

Food was flavorless. Had stomach problems before arriving home. ?Ate here for breakfast. I had 2 eggs & smoked sausage, added hashbrown w cheese & 1/2 cup gravy to top it.Hubs had 2 eggs with tenderloin and toast. The TENDERloin was dry and flat as we had ever seen, and we both frequent the fried tenderloin sandwiches on most menus lol. The eggs were tasteless (both had over easy). The biscuit was dry and crumbly. The smoked sausage could have been cooked long enough to sear at least one edge, but wasn't. The gravy tasted like the powder kind out of a packet. The hashbrowns were flavorless. Our bill with both meals and 2 coffees was $26 and some change before tip. (I tipped $5, as server kept coffee topped off and checked in often)Never thought I'd say this, but I'd rather have had waffle house. ? wh is cheaper and tastier but wanted to find better option, bc it also gives the family stomach pains/issues.Really wanted to love this place, because there's not many options around and I hate cooking all the time.Half the seating was restricted with obvious signage but seemed regulars were allowed to sit in the restricted area of dining room.I hate giving poor reviews but would rather save someone else the heartache. Hubby said their lunch/dinner is much better than the breakfast was though!

This is a great little small town restaurant. I love that they still have the NSS convention poster.

This place is exactly what I wanted. Simple food, made well. Reminded me of my mom's cooking. The decor is a bit outdated, but that is a minor thing when the food is this good. Everything was clean and well maintained. The service is great, and the staff is friendly. You can tell that this place is a staple of the area based on the amount of regulars coming in that the servers know by name. Absolutely recommend stopping by when in the area.
