Nice location and our table had a view of the Ohio River. Unfortunately, the smell of cigarette smoke hung heavy in the restaurant which cheapened the ambiance like a local bar or nearby casino. The meal was good but not stellar. The NY Strip steak that I had was cooked as requested and appeared to be of good quality but tasted as though it had either been marinated in a salty brine or too much salt added when on grill. Overall, a nice location for a meal given the view but otherwise no compelling reason to select this restaurant over others with better meal quality and value.

Amazing experience and food as always. Took my wife here for her birthday a day before Thanksgiving for an 8:15 reservation. They close at 9, but we're still serving us and being just as attentive as they would be during regular hours which goes a long way. We both had the Filet which is always cooked to perfection, Caesar salad was amazing, steakhouse mac and cheese was out of this world, and they even cooked us a little birthday dessert which was raspberry topped creme brûlée. 100% recommend. Been here about 6 times and they never disappoint

My husband & I love this place! We both ordered the Blackened Neptune. The flavors were amazing. My only gripe would be that my filet was supposed to be medium rare, & I got purple rare. However, my husband ordered his filet the same way, & it was perfect & absolutely delicious. They would've fixed my steak had I asked, but I just brought it home as I was full anyhow, & I can cook it some more that way. We also ordered crab cakes as a starter, & those are pretty good. Our waiter was very kind & helpful. We will definitely be going back.

Food was average, service was great and facilities need renovated. We spent $240 for 2 people. The prices are average, but I would have liked to have a wagyu filet.

The view was gorgeous. All of the staff was friendly and helpful. The food was superb! This is the place to go for a special date night. I appreciated their well-rounded drink menu as well.

It was my new rice cream, and I enjoyed everything about it. The drink the server recommend it was delicious some martini and I love and the dessert you all gave us. I really enjoyed it.
Our server Sergi was outstanding and the shrimp cocktail was excellent as was the carrot cake. The scallops were as good as any you can get in Evansville but the sauce did not appeal to me. Unless seated at a table overlooking the river, the ambience was pretty much like any other restaurant. I will definitely go back with the expectation that it will be a good meal at a premium price.

We picked Cavenaugh's because it was date night and we had been there before. Our steaks were okay but not the best. Very high end, expensive restaurant for the quality of meat. Our salads and sides were plentiful and good. Service was outstanding! The view on the Ohio River can't be beat. Next time we'll order the good old standby, filet mignon. 😉

We were celebrating our 53rd anniversary when we last visited. We experienced excellent river views, service and food! We also enjoyed a complimentary anniversary dessert. We hadn't visited for a while but won't wait so long next time!

Tonight we had the crab cakes, salad, and shared an order of scallops and mushrooms. Everything was nicely prepared and our server was top notch! The photo is a 1/2 order of scallops. The views of the river are amazing.
