Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

No way to not rate at least one Star. Waited for 5 minutes before I asked a waitress if we always have to wait this long to be seated. Her response was I don't know where the hostess is. They were not crowded and 2 employees greeted us when we first walked in. First strike. Got seated and the waitress was there immediately to take the drink order. Okay, they are trying to make up for the wait. She came back, took our order in addition to a to go order. About 5 minutes later she comes back to tell us that they were out of what we ordered. We didn't order the same things. Unbelievable at 7 in the evening. We were that late because my granddaughters wrestling meet had just finished and we were taking her to eat.

We arrived at approximately 7:30 PM at the Evansville Indiana store tonight. We waited at the podium for over 5 minutes before ANYBODY appeared to check us in while the check out counter was empty as well. Finally, someone came and seated us while apologizing for the long wait. The waitress came over immediately. We ordered our food: 2 meatloaf dinners (1 to go), an order of chicken and dumplings, and chicken for our granddaughter. After receiving our drinks, the waitress informed us that they were out of meatloaf AND chicken and dumplings. Of course, we immediately got up and left. Whomever is in charge of this store should be fired IMMEDIATELY!

The food was great. Our waitress was also very attentive. The only negative comment I have is we ask for our bill to be separate. So we were brought 2 separate checks. Upon checking out..One of the checks were for the entire total of the bill. And the 2nd check was for only half of the bill. So, had I not paid attention to the total on my check. I would've paid for the entirety of the bill myself. And my friend would've paid for a meal we didn't even order or get. As you can imagine there was alot of confusion at the checkout until we compared checks and found out what was going on. I'm not trying to say this was done intentionally. I'm just throwing out there to pay attention to what you're paying for.

Our most recent experience was surprising. After a short (30 minute) wait for a table for 7, we ordered pretty quickly but our meal took longer than expected (about 45 mintues). Granted, they were quite busy so that's probably to be expected. However, we were surprised that half of our orders were missing some items. The waitress (who was great) acknowledged this saying they had "run out" and that the items (okra, chicken and gravy) would be brought out as soon as they were available. This took an additional 15 minutes. I was shocked that chicken fried chicken would be served without gravy and would have prefered to just wait so it would have all been hot together. The waitress apologized and actually provided complimentary dessert for several at the table. I was also asked at the register while checking out if I wanted to talk to the manager. I wasn't looking for any further discount (beyond the free dessert) so I said no. I really think in situations like this, it's the manager's responsibility to interact with the customers instead of putting it on the waitress (who wasn't at fault).

I told my boyfriend before I ordered that I need to ask them what they don’t have, because they always out of something that I want and of course they were out of baked potatoes.

Dietary restrictions: Can y’all quit putting pepper in everything, alot of people have acid reflux

Food was edible. (Chicken was so dry) Service was horrible and restaurant was very noisy. We asked to be placed where it was warm. The lady put us right at a window seat, furthest from the fireplace. I think she was being a smart ass. Then the waitress was cocky and didn’t want to listen to our order and just trying to rush us out. Even though it was very slow for Cracker Barrel. Worst experience ever here

First time going on a weekday morning. Got there at opening, were immediately seated. In all fairness, this was 7am on a Thursday, but you know… Food was brought out very quickly. It was delicious!! All in all, a great experience!!
