I ordered a cookie cake for my Husbands birthday party a week and a half before I needed it this past Saturday. When I ordered they told me I could pick it up by 12 on my scheduled pick up day, I arrived at 1:00 pm to pick it up and it was not ready, not only was my cake not ready there were other customers there waiting on their cakes that were not ready either!! A guy at the counter told me they needed about 20-25 minutes before it would be ready meanwhile the one decorator I could see decorating had just started on a cake and there’s no way my cake with the size and design I had asked for would be done in that time frame. Had I sat and waited I would have been late for the party I was throwing that day!! I had to abandon my cake order and run to Meijer where luckily they had enough pre-made items on hand for my husbands party! I will never make the mistake of ordering from great American cookie again which is a shame because the cakes and cookies are so good, but improper time management and lack of decorating staff for how many orders they had nearly had me without a cake for a large party which is unacceptable!

I ordered a cake online for pick up the next day at 12:30 and when I had got there @ 1:30 (I know I got there late) they hadn’t even made the cookie cake or anything. Then when I asked what was going on no one would give me an answer and kept saying “our cake decorator is out running errands” so then I asked when she would be back and they got on the phone and never gave me an answer. After standing there for 30 minutes they came out with a cake and it wasn’t even mine. Then we waited another 35 minutes and finally got our cake. I’ve never had an issue with this place and we order from here every birthday. I hope this doesn’t happen again or we won’t be giving them our business anymore. This was so unprofessional and the people working were teenagers who do not know how to communicate with adults. Please do better!

got a cookie cake for my friend they didn’t use the right colors and was completely out of line with the center. spending almost 40 bucks on a cookie cake for my friends birthday you would think they would’ve taken the time to make sure it looked good. also showed up and the cake wasn’t even started after i pre ordered in advance.

Ordered a cookie online, was told it would be done at 2:10. We stop by at 2:10 and get told another 30 minutes, we come back 45 minutes later and get told again another 30 minutes. We go back home and come back over an hour later, and still is not done because they “forgot”. Absolutely ridiculous and we will never go back. Does not even look good. Would love a refund but couldn’t even talk about it.

Cookies are my favorite, but went tonight and had a girl wait on me at the register and she is the most hateful thing. Why on earth would you out someone like that to wait on customers is beyond me. She’s waited on us a handful of times and has had the same crappy attitude every time.

Visited Great American Cookie in Eastland Mall recently. It is under new ownership. The person I spoke with was very nice and friendly. Unfortunately, the recipe for the cookies has been changed. The cookies are smaller and dryer. I have been buying these cookies for years, so I know what they USED to taste like. I did notice the difference in size and texture before purchasing and was told the are being made with brown sugar now. My favorites WERE chocolate supreme and pecan supreme. I would not purchase again with the current recipe. Too bad.

I have purchased cookies and a few smaller cakes from here in the past.My son wanted a pirate cookie cake this year so we went back. I ordered the 12x24 large cookie and was a little disappointed. For the price I was just expecting more. First off, ordering online gives you a different price. I decided to wait and order in person and it ended up being $60. They charge $50 for the cookie and $10 for them to ice it... That was very pricey to me and I wish I was told that in the beginning, I would've went elsewhere.Then I was suggested to only do the image on half the cake because the cookie itself was heavy and the icing would add about 5 lbs. So we did..When I picked it up I was surprised, the cake was not heavy at all .. the cookie was so thin I could see the board under it.I couldn't even place a small little candle on it because there was nothing to the cookie.The candle would immediately fall over.We tried to make the best of it with what we had but when trying to cut and serve the cake we had to slide it because it was basically just icing. There was nothing to the cookie. My son was disappointed and didn't even finish his piece.$60 was WAY too much for this cake, and I will not be recommending it to others.The workers were very polite, but the cake was extremely disappointing.
