crystal our server did a great job. but restaurant was very warm inside and another waiter close to us had on so much polo cologne our food tasted like it. couldn't eat took our food home
Food is the same it's always been The only thing I can tolerate is the chicken sandwich the salsa tastes like it's straight out of a can, I had to spice it up with hot sauce to be able to enjoy it. It has nothing but tomato puree. The food is better than casa fiesta.

I've been a patron of Hacienda on First Avenue in Evansville IN for43 years! This restaurant is as close to authentic Mexican cuisine in Evansville, in my opinion.
The only reason for the 4-star rating for the atmosphere is that I prefer smaller or cozy dining areas. Being older in age, dining with families with children is difficult for my husband and I to have a conversation.
We usually start our meal with a fountain drink and chili con queso. The chips are thin and lightly salted. They are sturdy enough for the cheese dip, however. They offer two sizes of dip, a cup, or a bowl. This is nice based on what your entree will be.
We are creatures of habit with regard to our meal choices, but we always look at the wide variety of appetizers, salads, and entrées. Hacienda offers new menu items often, which our daughter enjoys trying. She has never been dissaentrée.
I highly recommend this restaurant on First Avenue as well as the east side location
Wheelchair accessibility: The spacing of the doors will accommodate standard wheelchairs. Neither location needs ramps.

The chips and salsa are good. All the chicken dishes are bland. Just boiled and shredded chicken with no spice at all. The rest is just OK. I haven't found anything really special there.

I always seem to have a good time eating here. The margaritas are good and the food never disappoints. If you are at the hospital this is just right down the road. I recommend getting the margarita flight if you can't decide on a flavor. My wife always gets a strawberry daiquiri so that also comes highly recommended by her.

I got the Chic on the beach, but substituted steak in it. The steak looked, smelled and had the consistency like it came from a can of cat food…

Dont order any alcohol that is when you get screwed ! $5 corona and rotten limes. For the price you should at least get a fresh lime not one that is mushy and yellow brown. Food is great, drink elsewhere !

Best described as overwhelming mediocre.... at best. The chips were bland. The salsa tasted like tomatoe puree, like it almost had no seasoning, peppers, etc. The ranch dipping sauce was tasty at first, but it got old quick to use for chips. The main entrees were again just okay. The wet burrito wasn't all that wet. Taco salad was simple. Chimichanga was also underwhelming. It did not taste like there was a lot of seasoning used in their cooking processes. The mushrooms were the best of the meal, although find them an odd pairing with Mexican food.
