We got a 1/2 pulled chicken and beef brisket dinner. The chicken was very moist and the brisket was cooked beautifully! The BBQ sauce just finished it off. Very good and we will be back for more! A small hole in the wall, but VERY good food!!

Not what it was years ago. Waitress didn't know how to use the electronic order device. We orders a soak sandwich, look like someone peed on it. Should be covered in their sauce. The sauce is real good. Not sure what the soak was covered with.

I recommend the Jalapeño Poppers - they are to die for!!Every menu item we have ever had there has been incredibly delicious!!When we are in the Evansville area, we ALWAYS visit Hickory Pit Stop BBQ!!You will NOT be disappointed.Kid-friendliness: Staff is great with kids.We often have some of our grandchildren with us and they love Hickory Pit Stop BBQ as much as we do.

Hands down, the single best BBQ I've ever had in my life.I asked what the waitresses favorite item was and she recommended the chicken, as it had just come off the smoker. By God, it was the most juicy, flavorful, smoky piece of chicken I've had.I wept silently, thinking of all the times I thought I had good bbq before. What a fool I was. Luckily, there were plenty of napkins to dry my eyes off with to continue enjoying.The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the restaurant was clean.Anyone in even an hour's drive of this place should come and visit, as it was a divine gift for me to stumble upon it and it will haunt my dreams, as I crave it till the next time I'm in the area.

This is the best BBQ I've ever had the ribs are so much and ? I love this family, for years they made me part of it , some best yrs. Of my life you All made me really feel like family and I that you'll all are friends forever, Cameron Debbie Lou Heiken is still very proud of you, when you were so little and come here me in kitchen making sauces,I always told you you would run this family tradition look at you couldn't be more proud of you, I have always loved you, playing in the fort you waking me up to go ? to work ha, you are so very special ?

Fingers, Fork, Knife & Spoon Evansville

Hickory Pit Stop is one of my favorite spots in town for BBQ. And it's the only place in Evansville that you can get mutton! The restaurant is always clean and even though it's very casual and laid back it's a great place for a business meeting or to get together with friends for a beer. Their ribs, chicken, pulled pork etc is always excellent - the trophies on the walls attest to that. Don't miss their burgoo either. They are in the 4th generation of the Ellison family running the business (currently Cameron), and have been serving some of the greatest BBQ in the Tri-State area since 1957. They use real hickory wood in their smokers and BBQ on what is probably the only original brick pit left in operation in Southern Indiana. Highly recommended!
