Fried chicken dinner was great. Service was great. Thank you for a great meal.
if your bedtime is before 8 pm....I wouldn't recommend going here. Bartending is way below average, with no customer service. I'm surprised they're still open, as it's seem they don't want business if you come in after 7 pm...doors were locked at 8 pm on a Saturday night. If I owned this place I would be making sure they keep the door unlocked until closing. this place could he a Northside staple with the right management. really disappointing.
cozy, inexpensive, laid back. So we live close to the new neighbor on the block which is Nellies North and that place can be quite busy. We stopped in Highland for breakfast instead and were pleased with the food, the atmosphere, the staff. The food was hot.... I emphasize hot .... tasty and fresh. The eggs even had white in them which is something I look for. Nellie’s North is great but don't miss the Highland Inn as a great alternative.
Service is great. The pizza has the perfect thin crust, and the chips and homemade salsa are the BEST around!

First off I’ve never left a review. Never felt the need. However, this changed things. We arrived at 5:30pm and were the only group in the building(6 people). It took 5 minutes to be greeted and get drink order. It was clear from the beginning our waitress was under the influence of drugs or alcohol, slurring speech, struggling standing and spilling drinks everywhere. Next, we ordered 2 appetizers, the first one took 30 minutes to arrive, the next took 45 minutes. I asked after the group had finished appetizer 1, where our other appetizer was and was told it’s still being prepared. When our entrees finally arrived, 4 of the 6 got their food after an hour and a half wait. The 4 finished their food before I got my food. Only to find out they never put my wife’s food in at all. We finally received it 2 hours later and just asked for a box as we were beyond ready to leave. Once we received our checks we realized they had charged us a $7.95 delivery fee. Mind you we were dining inside the restaurant. While all of this was happening, 4 tables got up and left due to the atrocious service. It’s truly sad but until this restaurant gets some help, I’ll save you the time and do not dine or order anything from this establishment.

Don't pass this place up! Stop in for food and drink with friends or family, food is served hot to your table or at the bar. Prompt service with a smile. Home town feel. Must experience.

Was eating breakfast at Nellie's and was going to get drinks at Highland afterward, but the owner decided to tell us if we were at Nellie's, they were going to tow my car. So, since you practice pettiness, we will never visit your establishment based on your poor attitude toward your neighbors.

We went there a few months ago ready to watch a game and eat some appetizers. We had to ask to get one of the TVs turned on to the basketball game. It’s obvious the owner doesn’t want the sports bar crowd, but still surprising that no TVs were turned to any sports. The apps were bland, definitely not made fresh. Get some better food and cater more to sports fans and you could have a successful place. It’ll be hard to compete against the new place next door unless you do something different. North siders really want the Highland Inn to succeed.

Answer the phone and don't hang up on customers. What business does this?
They had a couple of issues that were most probably beyond their control. Soft drinks not available due to issue with carbonation and no diet in cans. My grilled tenderloin sandwich was tough beyond chewing. It's understandable since there's no way to know tenderness before cooking.Other 3 people were very pleased with burger, club & fried bologna sandwich. Would definitely give it another try.

Sadly, the service tonight was horrible. The server seemed out of sorts and unable to handle her job. We waited 1 hour to get our food. This is the first time we’ve experienced this. It was obvious the owner was absent. She always steps up to the plate. Other customers had to wait as well with mistakes on orders. It created an awkward experience for everyone. The bartender helped some and saw what was going. Our server was spending time talking to patrons at the bar as we waited way too long to get our drinks. The food was great once we got it.
