*Hidden gem* Suggested categories to review: Food: Delicious. I ordered a simple roll, and while their delivery truck hadn't yet brought their fresh salmon, the eel was a perfect replacement. Highly recommend for a light lunch. Service: These are the sweetest people; it is always suspiciously not busy, but if you're patient and agreeable, you will not be disappointed by their charm. Ambiance: Used to be a church, and the space is open and fully decorated. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxed. Price: Six-piece roll with hot & sour soup + tip: out the door for $14 in less than twenty minutes.

Great food and service. We stopped for lunch during the work day and had our egg rolls right away, and had our entrées within 10 minutes! A local gem for sure.

Let me start by saying the hot & sour soup was the best I've ever had. 1st visit here and the last. My daughter & I ordered an appetizer, soup, sushi, and entrees. Everything besides my soup was mediocre to flat out bad. The lox was a joke. My daughter said her entree was terrible. The rice with my entree was mushy and gross. The lighting was so bad I had to use a flashlight to see the menu at noon! When it was time to pay, I had to wait forever due to confusion over multiple bills/checks/tables. Would never recommend.

Loved it here. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. It has a nostalgic feel to it. We were the only ones dining in when we went, so the service was incredibly fast. Food was great. We tried the sushi as well and were quite happy with it, while not the best in Evansville. It's definitely still great.

Enjoyed my first experience in Jaya's. Food is not like most of the local Asian restaurant's. It's good but a bit different and I liked it. Good sushi and the starters were very good. I would go again.

Today was my first time trying Jaya's, and the Lunch Bento I ordered was a great choice! The food and the service was great, and it's a great place to take care of my kimchi fix.

The best sushi in downtown! Super quick service, large portions, fresh ingredients, and well crafted cuisine. It’s definitely worthy of a regular visit.

I've now been to two Korean restaurants in Evansville. At the other one, everything is gleaming and dark and cold, and they play obnoxious, lewd K-Pop videos on a large tv right by the booth. The menu there is good but complex, and they are crewed by a large group of affable young Americans .This is NOT that restaurant. This is the restaurant where the floor, tables, and chairs are crafted of warm and beautiful wood, where everything is quiet and clean and comfortable and balanced, where lighting and decor is timeless, and where a white-haired Korean lady brings you food from a simple though ample menu of real Korean food. This is also the restaurant where the Kimchi is so crisp you could play percussion by chewing it, and so refreshing you drink the juice leftover in the bottom of the bowl.If you are reading this, you should know by now which of the two restaurants is for you.

We stopped in for a quick lunch on a Saturday before heading out for a long day of softball. We were shocked to see that the restaurant was empty. We like patronizing mom and pop owned businesses, so decided to stay and try the food. We really enjoyed everything that we ordered! I have the sweet and sour chicken and really enjoyed it. I made it a combo so it came with an egg roll and fried rice. My daughter ordered a house salad and seaweed salad. She devoured both. My husband ordered the beef spare ribs. For the cost, he felt like it was a good value as the it was very tasty and had great portions! I believe it was Jaya herself that was serving us. She was very friendly! Overall, we definitely enjoyed our lunch and look forward to going back to try a variety of menu items, such as the sushi! The only reason I did not vote this a full 5 stars is that I believe the lighting and cleanliness could be improved, which may encourage more customers to enter!

Stopped in before attending OVC basketball tournament. Had some gyoza and spicy Korean BBQ. Everything was great. The place was empty unfortunately. The decorations were nice, but the place was kind of dark.Would eat here again if back in town.
