The food was average for what you would expect for a $10-$20 diner atmosphere. The service was horrendous. All in all we were here for like an hour and a half or so between waiting on the waitress to return to take our order, waiting on the food, and waiting on the waitress to come back and take our payment. We are not from around here but if we were this was a bad first impression and would probably make me hesitant to return. The biscuits and gravy were average, the sausage was average, the bacon was pretty good, and the pancakes were also pretty good. The star of the plates was the German potatoes. They were cooked well being nice and crispy. TL:DR Food was average and service times were horrible

This is my favorite place to get breakfast in Evansville. The food is delicious and I always get EXCELLENT service from Jen! This is a VERY popular, locally-owned, small business and sometimes there’s a long wait for a table and a long wait for food. For me, it’s always been worth it to stick around. Pro-tip: You have to specifically order your German potatoes extra crispy.

Party of 2. We sat ourselves in the patio (public sidewalk). Got our menus and drink. Menu looked like the had great options and even healthier choices then most places.
My son had met me between classes to eat and run. He already had a sandwich and drink from another place but I was going to order and eat at kite and key. They told us that he could not have any outside food or drink at the table. Even though we were outside on public sidewalk. She offered us a bag to put it in but never showed back up to the table so we left. I will try it again maybe.

Food was fine. Very standard fare. Great if you love home cooked food. Staff very friendly. Prices weren’t terrible but not my cup of tea.

Highly recommend!! The food was fantastic, the service was even better, and the chai tea topped it all off. It was clean and they were fast!

Lastly lunch was available in the morning which works out perfect for those who don’t care for breakfast!

A couple was sat before us. They got drinks at some point. 10 mins go by the server has not come bye or even greeted us. A lady walks in ignores the please wait to be seated. The waitress tells the hostess to get her a menu. 5 minutes later the waitress goes to her to take an order. We have not gotten drinks or talked to us. The hostess was busy sorting crayons and didn’t even think to ask if we had been talked to by our waitress.

We get up to leave, told the hostess we are leaving as we have not been served but the lady who you were told to get a menu is being served before us and was never seated by you is. Her reaction was carry out. Nope wrong answer. Correct and would be to offer us drinks and may take orders or get the manager to us.

So unless you know the people that work there, I guess you don’t get served.

Cute cafe with tasty breakfast & lunch options. Today I opted for the French Toast which uses a cinnamon roll in place of bread. Bacon was crispy but not overdone & I enjoyed the colorful selection in my fruit cup.
As a smaller cafe expect a bit of a wait during rush.

I was rather disappointed. The only great thing was the German potatoes. It took almost 1 hr to get the basic breakfast. I'm pretty patient, but as you can see, the basic shouldn't take that long. A warning would have been nice. My coffee got cold waiting for the food. The sausage was the same taste as the ones at McDonald's.

So, for me, it was the very long wait. I think I did read every quote on the walls.
