Nice little mexican restaurant in downtown Evansville..food has always been good, fresh, and reasonably priced. Not a very big dining area, they will need more room when more people find out about how good this place is.

Food was OK. I wish I was able to eat it because I ended up getting a fajitas and they decided to put jalapeño in my fajitas and when I got to my table, it felt like I got pepper spray in my face and I was choking with the smoke And I’m not exaggerating because everybody in the restaurant started coughing, and I was not able to eat my food because it was so spicy and I’m Latino and I like hot but this was basically habanero hot there beans and rice are basic. I’ve tasted better the only place that I found so far that’s good. It’s called Maria’s out of Mount Vernon. Their food is authentic not like here. It’s like OK.

My wife and I live over two hours away and were in town to see Jim Breuer at nearby Victory Theatre. We stopped at La Mexicana for dinner before the show.
My wife and I both got the chicken chimichangas. Everything was well within my expectations.
I would warn any gentlemen with any mobility issues that the men's room is up a set of steep stairs. It isn't obvious where the men's room is so I had to ask.
