Just getting back from our nashville trip, tired not wanting to cook, we scrolled through food on Google and stumbled on Lonestar! Let me tell yall! First, these guys know how to make cornbread! And It ain't cracker barrel bread! Second, we did order a tad late, so they were sold out of brisket and ribs (the 2 I was wanting lol), the lady on the phone was nice and when we picked the order up, they apologized but also told us to order sooner, lesson learned yall because if the chicken and pork is this dang good those ribs are probably fall of the bone and out of your chair, slap your grandma good! So I ended up getting the 2 meat combo and hubby got the Texas torpedo. My God! ❤️ BEST $36 spent in a while, including Nashville food!! Enough food for left over lunch tomorrow:) we are die hard support you local small business believers, and I'll tell ya what! This is one that will continue to have out business! (I didn't rate the atmosphere due to not dining in, but hubby said everyone was super nice when he picked up our food). Next time we will sit in! If yall want some actual real food, you can taste and smell the smoke, friendly, fast and well worth every penny??? GO EAT HERE AND SUPORRT THIS PLACE! We all know here in evansville, not a lot of places make it real far! Let's give these guys our business! Thank yall for good food and good service! We will be back! :)

Just like everyone says, Texas style brisket done RIGHT! Best you can find this far north, and I've been looking ever since I left Texas :-) cornbread was sweet and amazing. Good stuff!
Being honest. The Bbq is Ok and I've had better, but it's still just ok and over hyped. The food price is a little high for basic BBQ food and a can soft drink is 2.00, so basically stop at Thorntons and get u a 99 cent polar pop and eat. 2 people Eating their will easily cost u 50, you midest well eat at a Bbq Buffet.

Our Senior group went there for lunch. Everyone seemed to like the food. And the staff very friendly. Great service. Beans seemed to have a kick to them, but good, corn bread excellent. I had the Texas Torpedo...huge stuffed bake potato! Photo below..brought half home. Highly recommend!

Came in today for the first time, I got pulled pork, macaroni and cheese, baked beans and banana pudding. Everything was cooked to perfection. My order was delicious. This is some of the best barbecue that I’ve ever had, definitely some of the best barbecue in Evansville. I highly recommend checking this place out.

Some of the best bbq I have had in Evansville in a long time. The brisket was juicy and has the right amount of spices. I don't know if it was the owner or not that came to our table. But he asked us about our food and was just so polite and nice. As well as everyone else working. The waitress were extremely helpful when ordering and serving us. I like the restaurant inside and out, it gives you a texas smokehouse feel inside Evansville. The only reason I could not give 5 stars is they were out of chicken and that is one of favorite bbq items.

Old school backyard type bbq joint with home-style cooked food. Veryyyyy yummy! I enjoyed the potato salad a lot as well as the mac and cheese, both of these sides were particularly well done, the mac and cheese was just the classic home cooked mac and cheese but it had good flavor, it wasn't bland but it also didn't overwhelm the meat (good balance) and I felt the same way about the potato salad.The ribs were fall of the bone good, meaty and tender, didnt even need sauce. My boyfriend loves the bbq baked beans but he did say they have a bit of a kick to them but it was tolerable. He said his fries were just standard but still good. My half a chicken was white meat and was dry, probably won't get that again so that would be my one complaint. The cornbread though was off the hook! Strongly recommend getting that over bread if you like cornbread at all. Yum.

Having just learned about this place last week, I decided it was time to check it out and so Saturday afternoon I stopped in and got me some dinner to take home.I ordered the brisket special with two sides and I got baked beans and mac n cheese with cornbread and a sweet tea and all was excellent!Lone Star offers brisket and ribs and chicken and pork and I believe they have nachos and a few spuds, as well!Baked beans, mac and cheese, potato salad, French fries, sweet potatoes green beans and green beans for sides.Banana pudding and sweet potato pie for dessertThe couple of employees that were there were super nice, very friendly people and I would definitely be going back and I would definitely be ordering from them again!
