Tired this place for the first time, judging by the reviews I thought it was a good spot for breakfast. Highly disappointed with the food, was served undercooked potatoes,the biscuits were hard and did not taste fresh and the eggs were so bland I couldn't eat half of my food.

We are visiting family in Evansville and decided to have breakfast at The Diner by Mel’s. We love to patronize restaurants that are not part of big national chains, and this restaurant is cute and friendly. I asked for the vegetarian omelette to be made with egg whites which they did, and it was very good.
We both liked our meals, and we were impressed by the very friendly and welcoming staff.
We will definitely be back during our visit, and if we lived in Evansville , it would be one of our regular places.

I always look at this restaurant, and I thought their business was slow. There is parking in the back also,and it was full. We decided to try them out(a friend and my daughter). We enjoyed it from the entrance to the exit. Food is great, great customer service, beautiful & clean restrooms, and a relaxing environment. We will be back again.
