Crab Rangoon was great. Sweet and sour chicken had way way too much sauce poured over the whole thing. Felt like I was just eating sauce.

This was our first trip to Yen Ching. The building is very beautiful. We ordered three different meals (They had no kids options)-- chicken lo mein, sweet and sour chicken, and beef & broccoli. Each came with a soup, which each soup was pretty good. Unfortunately, each entree was not good. Each entree came with an order of fried rice. It tasted like white rice.The sweet and sour chicken was inedible, and we sent it back to the kitchen. It was smothered in a weird congealed sauce that tasted unlike any sweet and sour chicken we had ever tried, but not in a good way. The beef and broccoli was edible but we contemplated sending it back. The sauce was congealed and flavorless. We doused it salt to make it edible. The chicken lo mein was also flavorless and the noodles were soggy. I would haven given 1 star, but the service was good, and the manager comped the sweet and sour. The building was also very cool looking and well decorated.

Excellent Chinese food, friendly service, and a great “old school Chinese” ambiance. Highly recommend, for either take-out or dining in.

I went here when I was in college 30 years ago. I couldn't believe it was still open. This is hands down the best Chinese restaurant I have ever been to. The food and portions are amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant!!

My girlfriend and I ate here for the first time last night and it looked rather unassuming from the outside but the inside of the restaurant had an awesome decor and really set the mood. We next ordered the volcano drink which was simply labeled as a “concoction” but was super whimsical and fun! The rest of our time at the restaurant was amazing. The service was some of the best I’ve ever had. Always present if needed and ensured that our drinks were kept full while still not appearing to hover or pressure. The food was incredible, especially my mu shoo pork with pancakes. Plus really big portions so we have leftovers. Definitely will be back in the future!!

I have lived in Evansville all my life, yet never been to Yen Ching till this visit. Great decor, good menu selection, and I loved the entire page of island style drinks!! Ordered the Peppered Beef & Chicken and she ordered the Sweet & Sour Chicken. Everything was tasty and very satisfying! I indulged in a Mai Tai and also an Island Beach Bum beverage. Both on point!! Enjoyed our first visit and will definitely be a returning customer!
