Agave Bar and Grill

I walked in at 3pm on a Sunday and sat at the bar, there were only two other tables in the entire restaurant. The bartender waved and asked if I wanted a drink so I ordered a margarita. She disappeared for a few minutes presumably taking care of one of the two tables and then came back and made the margarita.

I was hoping that the large TV in the bar would have the playoff football game on but it didn't, so I asked if we could put the game on. Then she handed me the remote and said I could probably find it better than she could. And while I appreciate the vote of confidence every interaction I had with her was painful like this one. Side note, they couldn't get CBS on their TV for some reason even though it's free. Started to realize why this place was empty...

After giving me the margarita she asked if I would like any food and I said yes I would like to start with a small queso chips and salsa. A few minutes later she returned with a small cup of queso and set it on the bar, no chips, no salsa, just queso. Then she asked if I was able to find the game. I looked at her puzzled just like our previous two interactions and then she asked if I wanted any more food.
I was trying to hold back my frustration and asked as nicely if I could if I was able to get chips and salsa with that queso. She said oh my gosh that's a brain fart my bad.

After she brought the chips and salsa she asked if I wanted any more food and I said yes in a little bit but I'm going to nibble on this first. Then she disappeared for 20 minutes doing who knows what, definitely not cleaning the bar because there were dirty tables everywhere and even a chair in the middle of the aisle that nobody thought to move or make the tables look better in any way.

Anyways she finally came back and asked if I wanted to order more food, I said yes please and proceeded to order, she was using one of those hand held computers to put the order in and still had a hard time putting a basic order for one person in. Then without noticing my empty margarita glass she asked if there was anything else she could get for me, I said yes please another margarita would be great.

After giving me the second margarita she left again for a long time and never came back to ask how everything was or if I needed anything. It felt more like I was invading her space.

Halfway through eating my food another table came in and sat down with two ladies, I watched her interact with them to see if their service was any better and it was not.

Where was she the whole time? Watching TikTok in the kitchen? Is she new? What's going on here? How are you so unobservant or lazy? Is it bad training? Bad management? Who knows

After about another 20 minutes she finally came back and asked how I was doing, I asked for the check, a box and closed out immediately.

On my way out I saw her in the kitchen hunched over a table playing on her phone, so that checks out.

The only redeeming quality about this restaurant was that the food came out quickly, hot and seemed fresh. I didn't have silverware to eat it though and had to ask for it after I got my food.

In conclusion, If brain farts could be smelled then this place with stink worse than a pig farm.

The food was delicious though, props to the kitchen staff, too bad the service was one of the most painful experiences I've ever been a part of. I hate writing a bad review but I wanted to warn everyone because this was probably in the top 5 of worst service I've ever received anywhere.

My husband and I recently visited Agave for a daytime date, hoping to enjoy a couple of drinks. Unfortunately, our experience was less than pleasant due to a serious issue with fruit flies. We sat at the bar, and as soon as our server took our order, she opened either the refrigerator or the ice container, releasing a swarm of fruit flies. We understand it's fruit fly season, but the sheer number of flies suggested a serious infestation.

We decided to move to the patio once our drinks were ready, hoping to escape the flies inside. However, after receiving my drink, I noticed flies floating in it. The server kindly remade it for me, but once outside, I discovered several fruit fly larvae in my drink. Although the server was apologetic and did not charge us, it was a truly disgusting experience.

The thought of others unknowingly consuming drinks potentially contaminated with flies or larvae is unsettling. This incident has certainly discouraged us from trying anything else at Agave. While the staff was polite and accommodating, the fly infestation is a significant health concern that needs to be addressed immediately.

Avoid this place .. !!!!
first of all, the severs are laying in costumer service skills.
I had order the CHILE RELLENO.
She stated, that the chile relleno wast on the menus only the chili.
I pointed the menu item though. she was very confused but went ahead and placed my order.
5-7 minutes after placing the order. She comes back stating they were out of eggs for my dish …!!!
Okay .. I order the mole enchiladas ..
worst mole I’ve ever had, rice was so dry and crunchy ..
The server never ask us how was the food or anything just refill our water and came back when it was time to pay.
The language barrier wast the issue, because I was speaking Spanish to her…

Food was good. Prices are a little high, but portion is fair. Margs are also on higher end but they were good. This place was much smaller than I thought it was going to be and could use an update on decor. Staff was very friendly though.

Waited 30 minutes sitting at table at 2pm today... no order was taken for food. Not sure reason. But even if understaffed
waitress should acknowledge us and say something. My husband just said let's go. We walked to another restaurant to eat.

This place is a decent option for Mexican food in the fishers area. Within walking distance is Rita’s and Handels for dessert. The restaurant itself is pretty small. We went on a Monday night and most of the tables were full, so I’m sure on a weekend it may be tough to get a table. Service was pretty quick, and the portion sizes are fine. I will say parking can be a bit of an issue. The food isn’t anything special but it’s not bad.

The best Mexican food that isn't dry meat or old tasting food. Best meat for tacos and quesadillas, their Ceviche is also good.

First, we loved the aesthetic! Second the food was absolutely AMAZING and very fresh. But last and quite certainly, not least, the staff was hands down the best restaurant staff I've experienced in a long time but Frida took it over the top! Her spirit and conversation was my favorite part!

I tried to order online from Fishers and it kept giving me Carmel pickup. So I called in and tried to explain but no one could understand my point after 2 - 3 tries. After picking up my food and getting home, they neglected to include our tortillas (which are kind of an essential with Fajitas). So I called in back. Not wanting to return again, I asked for a free meal...they would not.

Our server tried, I think, but she just couldn't keep up. Not a good experience.
