MOTW Coffee and Pastries

Stopped by the Carmel location today for the first time. We have a dairy allergy and the barista told us the drink we ordered was dairy free. Then we found out it wasn’t, so we ordered another drink. Then we waited for 20 mins for our drinks as we watched several, younger couples walk in, order, and get the drinks while we waited. I thought they missed our drinks so I politely asked if they were still working on them and they got very defensive when I asked why others received their drinks first. Lastly, we realized that we were overcharged for one of our drinks. I want to like this place but this situation made it really difficult for us to want to come back.

Great coffee, cozy vibe, and amazing service! Ali, the barista/manager, is super friendly and really knows his craft. You can tell he cares about both the drinks and the people. Always a great experience here!!!

CUPQUAKE!!!! Yum!!! Worth the trip out of your way.

This is my favorite local chain. It might not even be local! People of the flavor are totally on point. Two small notes the bit pricey but if they're donating to human Rights causes then it's totally worth it. Also this particular location is just kind of bland inside I wish they would get some plants and make it a little bit more cozy.

I been a regular at your Lombard Location . I love the chai and the drinks over there. However, your new location in Skokie is a mess. . The quality of drink and services is very bad. I was very disappointed when I visited last time , I found a roach in my chai. I felt very sick of it .The tables were dirty. The bathrooms were dirty and the owners were treating the place like their living room. Partners like this can destroy your brand reputation. Please look into this matter as soon as possible. I do have a full video of my experience at the Skokie location. I do not want to post it on my TikTok, which has over 30,000 local followers. I am leaving a five star review keeping in mind my past experience in the Lombard location. The Skokie location deserves zero stars.

UPDATE: Went in today to get my once favorite drink but found out it IS NOT VEGAN! Even though I was informed that it was on my first visit. But this time I set and watch the guy making it and he grab a Aldi's red cartoon of heavy cream getting ready to make my strawberry cold foam with it. I said what are you doing that's not VEGAN/NON-DAIRY. He said this is what I have to use. I said no. The last person that made my drink did not use that unless they done so while I wasn't looking! Not going back super upset!!! Deceiving! And it's to expensive to not get what you asked for and to be deceived.And the guy that worked there laughed and chuckled like it was funny. They don't take food restrictions seriously and that is a dangerous thing as many are allergic and can not have this. Please be aware!!!! Wish I could give this place no stars but it makes you give one.

If I could rate 11/10 I would. I’m from Pennsylvania and I am always on the hunt for a good Matcha latte. I had the strawberry matcha and it was incredible. Thank me later for trying it for yourself.

Visited in the early afternoon of 5-14-25. They had NO coffee available, just espresso based drinks. An explanation was not given, but the employee did apologize.

Coffee shops that are out of coffee are becoming more common from my experience. Seems people rarely order plain coffee anymore, preferring to drink espresso based drinks, most of which are full of sugar and artificially flavored junk. Sad...

Stopped in at Muslims of The World (MOTW) for a coffee and pastry. The girl working there was extremely nice and helpful- probably the nicest person working at a coffee shop I have ever met. The space itself is very bright and large. I would not call it warm, but it's not cramped either. They need more decorations or in some way to warm the space up, and absorb sound more (there is an echo). The coffee and food was fine, however the prices are WAY too high- $17 for a large coffee and a single medium small pastry.
