There was either string or hair in my food. All I ordered was vegetables

The broth didn't taste right. And the noodles were overcooked.
Ramen was barely a step above microwave ramen.
Bamboo shoots were very undercooked, and the broth wasn't very rich or creamy.
More of a soup than a ramen.
The potstickers were decent.

Been here at least a dozen times, when they first opened the food was exceptional - the last few times the food has been very bland. The service has a very, “the employees could care less feel”.

After spending 3 years living in Japan, I was craving some authentic tasting ramen here in Fort Wayne. I've tried a couple other places and they weren't even close. Bimi Bistro has, without a doubt, the best and most authentic ramen in Fort Wayne!
I had the spicy pork miso and the flavors were perfect. The chashu had a delicious texture and marinade. Everything about the dish reminded me of Tenka Ippin in Japan.
10/10 food. A must-eat!

So pretty good Ramen, but a bit pricey. Takoyaki was good. Hibachi was to me below average.
Atmosphere was okay for a mall, service was great friendly and helpful.

Very nice atmosphere. Their brown sugar Boba tea is AMAZING!!! The kimbuchi salad is just the right amount of spicy.

Okay so first of all this place is Chinese.
Now with that out of the way, let's get into the real review.
Our waitress looked like she had a gun pointed on her head. Knowing my previous experience with Hana in Phoenix, AZ, that was already a giant red flag.
But in terms of the food, the only thing I find worth mentioning is that they make correct ramen.
...Yet it's correct in the same way that a groomed, mindless Asian student who spent all night memorizing a book to regurgitate its content on the test will give you a correct answer. The food at Bimi Bistro looks and tastes like what one would consider ramen. Bone broth, ramen noodles, fatty chashu, droopy marinated eggs, etc.
And yet, it's so bland and bloody BORING! It's like a "How to make ramen for dummies" book illustration coming to life. Completely devoid of any excitement or character. The very definition of mediocre. This extends to the appetizers like the takoyaki and char siu bun as well, unfortunately. Everything's as technically correct as it gets. It's actually uncanny how they could make food with all the right steps and ingredients, and yet so lacking in flavor.
I didn't get to try the hibachi plate my friend got, but from the looks and his description, it seemed like it would've tasted like every takeout "hibachi" dinner ever as well.
Personally, I would've preferred actually bad food at this point. At least I could write something funny about them.
TL;DR Someone just learned how to make ramen, and opened Bimi Bistro.

I had the bento box chicken and it was very delicious. My wife had the Hibachi steak and it was so tender and so good. Highly recommend this restaurant. Perfect medium rare

Today was our sixth visit to Bimi. As always, it was absolutely delicious. My daughter ordered Chicken Shoyu Ramen, and I ordered the Spicy Tempura Shrimp Miso Ramen. The food and service was perfect, and I can't say enough good things about the place.
It was a bit warm in there, but with the amount of traffic going in and out, that's to be expected.
