First, there was an advertisement board next entrance door. It advertised a New Strip steak $14.99. The owner came over to our table to take. Our order. I said we will have the special 14.99. He then said special is not good on Friday night (Even though the sign didn’t have specific days). Instead of paying 14.99 for the same New York strip steak, we paid 24.99! We stayed because we heard good things about this place. Wife ordered the fish, it was spoiled. He quickly resolved the problem with another meal. However he charged for the fish which was more. He didn’t bring her vegetables back out. The back door was completely propped open. Allowing flies and heat. For a $60 meal for 2, you would expect to eat your meal in a cool comfortable setting. When we left out the opened back door, the New York strip steak special was removed. The steak wasn’t a New York strip. It was flat and thin. It was overbearing with pepper. In our opinion, this place is a thumbs down. This is a true New York Strip steak.

I have been intending to try Captain Ron’s for a while but was fasting from meat during lent LOL. Last week the opportunity came up and we tried Ron’s. His attitude and service was top notch and friendly. It is a tiny little place attached to a gas station. My kinda spot. Home town cooking is usually better hands down than a chain restaurant. His menu was limited, but he told us up front due to being unusually busy the night before. But that’s good news right! He has a cash discount which is awesome but we went for the New York strip steak dinner with baked potato and salad and paid with my plastic. OH MY GOSH. For just under $20 it was fabulous! Next time I want to try the salmon and I’m bringing cash! (Oh btw if you have kids under 21 it doesn’t have a family room, but that didn’t affect us we are all over 21.)

Best steak in Waynedale. We go every Monday. Usually 6 of us total at the table. Captain Ron is super fast and very friendly.
