Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

Went in on a Sunday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised to be seated immediately. Had a sweet server who took our order fairly soon after sitting down. Brought our drinks and meals with no long wait. Our server was also taking care of two big groups as well as us so even though she didn't get back for drink refills - she apologized and gave us drinks to go. The food was really good. Noticed the helpings seemed a big smaller but then that's practically the case everywhere. So all in all a good experience. Would go back to this Cracker Barrel.

We love to eat at this Restaurant, they are OK for Breakfast, 3 times this month we went for Dinner, every time we had to wait for more than 45 mins for our dinner to come out, this last time the food also came out luke warm and the steak was tough

Food taste amazing but came out lukewarm. Husband's fried chicken was berry greasy and overdone.

On entering through the store I smelled woodsmoke. Didn't think much about it til the gal wanted to seat me next to the inferno fireplace running when it was 58 degrees outside.
I asked if I could sit further back by the window. She said sure, " Some like to sit by the fire some by the window". I told her I have asthma and the smoke smell is a bit strong.
Andy waited on me. He was pleasant and offered me 1 biscuit & 2 corn muffins because the biscuits weren't ready when my food was. I ordered applesauce which use to be served in a dish. Now you get a plastic lunch cup with foil lid?! Truly no restaurant quality.
Chicken & Dumplings were great as always, but food & the plate could have been warmer like the inferno fireplace.
The Hashbrown casserole was of poor quality - frozen thawed, cooked & burnt. Andy did keep my drink topped off and I was pleased with his service.
Since my server Andy's shift was over another gentlemen Kevone? brought me my to go container & asked me if I wanted a to-go drink. I said "Yes & bring me 2 biscuits as I asked for when I ordered - I won't eat corn muffins thankyou!" He said, "No problem be right back"... & he was.
Nobody asked me if I wanted dessert to go (missed opportunity) I asked for my bill from server on the way out to store. He apologized he failed to give it to me when he brought my togo containers & he pulled bill off his tray as he had just waited on another table. I assured him it was ok & I understood he was busy w/shift change.
The store was holding a shirt for me. I didnt realize how smokey I smelled in my short time there til I got in my vehicle. I then tried on new purchase when I got home and realized the woodsmoke I was smelling was absorbed in my new shirt- from it hanging in the store. It has since gotten a good washing.
Overall - the restaurant staff is very pleasant, as were the helpful store clerks. The food needs redefined - back to home cooked made from scratch real food not frozen and served in dishes, not the plastic throw away cup.
