Its reputation of being a favorite local haunt is well-deserved, because Durnell's has been a Fort Wayne favorite for generations now. Those who haven't tried their fish sandwich or tenderloin simply don't know what they're missing. Still, I'm a s***** for their hamburger platter, which is hands down the best in the city. Highly recommended. Please note: Cash or check only, though. Credit and debit cards are not accepted.

My grandfather Joe Durnell said his brother started this Restaurant. Hopefully I can visit and meet family members from long ago ❤

For Lent nothing beats the fish sandwiches of Denny the maestro of the kitchen and the service of his wife Teena. Great place to relax and start the weekend.

I had a Breaded Pork Tenderloin Platter, it was very good. I was surprised to find out they had no beer or liquor nor do they accept debit or credit cards, out of a possible 5 star tops, they get a 2.5.

Food is great. I mean VERY good. Cool old bar ambience. Just don't go there if you're in a hurry. It may be 20 minutes before anyone even acknowledges that you're there...then wait another 20 minutes before your salad arrives. What's on the menu does not necessarily dictate what's available. More often than not a lot of the menu items are just not in production on any given evening. Yet we still go back for the food .
