This was my first time at firehouse subs and it’ll likely be my last. Whoever was bagging the food spent more time talking and having social hour, than actually doing their job. Order was not ready until 20 minutes after quoted and not one person said anything the entire time I was waiting in the pickup area until the food was done which is when they asked who I was picking up for. Food was better than I expected with the experience, but wasn’t hot and fresh which would have justified the long wait.

I placed an online order for four sandwiches on 3/4/26 and did not have a good experience.

I arrived on time and was greeted (asked my name) and told my order was “just finishing up.” While waiting, I went to fill the kids’ drink, only to find the freestyle machine was out of most beverages. I sat down and waited another 8–10 minutes.

A worker eventually slid a carry‑out bag toward me, mumbled something, made eye contact, and nodded. There was no receipt attached, so I reasonably assumed it was mine. When I asked about the cookie for the kids meal, I was told to get it at the register — only to find out they were out of cookies and only had brownies.

When I got home, I discovered the bag wasn’t my order at all. It contained two sandwiches and fries, not the four sandwiches I paid for. I immediately called the store, and instead of taking responsibility, they blamed me for taking the wrong bag — even though they handed it to me and didn’t label it.

They told me they “couldn’t take it back” and asked if I still wanted my actual order. I said yes, because I can’t feed four people with two sandwiches. They offered to “keep it warm,” but did not offer to remake it.

When I returned, I brought the incorrect order back. The person running the store told me they couldn’t take it and suggested I “throw it away or give it to a homeless person.” I set it on the counter and told them they could handle it.

By the time I got home again — now over an hour after my original order time — my food was cold, mushy, and nowhere near fresh. No apology, no remake, no accountability.

I contacted customer service, who said they would forward my complaint to the store. I still haven’t heard anything back.

This entire experience was unprofessional, dismissive, and extremely disappointing.

I wanted something different so I tried Firehouse subs on Coldwater Rd. My experience was terrible. I ordered the Firehouse steak & cheese combo. My sub was cold, only had steak and cheese. They forgot to put on the caramelized onion and bell peppers. Then, they forgot my french fries. I also ordered a brownie and of course I didn't get it. I asked for my brownie and they offered me a cookie. They said the ran out of brownies.They offered me a cookie ($1.99) when I told them a paid for a brownie ($2.79). The worse part is that they knew they were out of brownies and they didn't say anything until I asked for it. Over priced subs, horrible customer service! never again!

They are always friendly at this location!!! My sandwich is always well made and fresh! They also will give you a bigger sized cup if they are out of the smaller sizes. Very kind!

Best subs. Best service. Will go out of my way to come to this location over others (especially Illinois rd). Guys working 1/24 closing were so nice, I came in like 5 min before close to pick up and they weren’t irritated or frustrated at all. Love this location!

Today we celebrated our grandson 20th birthday and ordered 2 Firehouse Special and 1 Steak Sub with drinks and chips! The subs were fantastic, the staff were great and the interior neat and clean.

The girl at the register was not friendly, mumbled everything then acted annoyed when I had to ask her to repeat herself. Meanwhile the guys making the food were far more interested in conversation with each other than working. I waited almost 15 minutes for a single sandwich while they casually joked around. Only one other order got done in that time and I overheard that they'd messed it up. To top it off, the sandwich was gross, all soggy and haphazardly smashed together. I used to like Firehouse Subs at a different location years ago but either this location is particularly bad or the chain has just really declined.

I have never had anything to complain about. I only ever order the Italian and it’s what I highly recommend to others. Definitely one of my favorite sandwich shops.
