I made reservations at Hideout125 one month in advance for my partner’s surprise birthday dinner. Our reservation was for 11/28 at 7 p.m., and our guests arrived on time—only to end up waiting 24 minutes before being seated. When my partner and I arrived, two men standing outside (whom we had never met) greeted us by saying, “Oooooh, you’re late. They’ve been waiting on you,” which immediately felt uncomfortable. Once inside, we learned from our guests that they had been treated poorly by the owner. They told us he had questioned them about our arrival time, claimed he was “losing revenue” because we weren’t there yet, and even attempted to remove a table and four chairs from our group to seat another party. My partner and I left the table to speak directly with the owner. When she explained how his tone and comments had affected our guests and asked for an apology, he dismissed her concern by saying, “That’s neither here nor there. I am here to help you,” before giving the most monotone and insincere apology we’ve ever heard. The entire experience was incredibly disappointing. The owner’s behavior cast a shadow over what was meant to be a special birthday celebration. Because of this, we will not be returning.
1 Star - Birthday Dinner From Hell at Hideout 125 Let me preface this by saying: I used to actually like Hideout 125. I've been several times, enjoyed myself, recommended it even. The staff has always been wonderful, warm, attentive, everything you'd actually hope for in a restaurant trying to be "upscale." But then... I had the absolute misfortune of experiencing the restaurant while the owner was present, and I can confidently say the entire vibe of the new location sinks the moment he opens his mouth. My partner planned a birthday dinner for me. Sweet, right? Our reservation was at 7:00pm. My guests arrived on time, but the table wasn't even ready until after 7:20pm. My guests, who arrived punctually, were barely seated before the owner swooped in to treat them like an inconvenience he personally regretted allowing through the door. He demanded to know when we'd arrive, announced that he was "losing revenue" because of us being "35 minutes late" (Nice math considering the table wasn't ready until 24 minutes into our reservation) and even tried to take the table back for a bigger party. Because nothing says "Happy Birthday" like being told you're financially disappointing a man you've never met. We did originally have a reservation for 12, however, only 8 of us showed up. But the real highlight? Walking into the restaurant only to be greeted by other customers saying, "Ooooo, they've been waiting on you." How would those strangers know? Because the owner, in all his professional glory, had apparently been talking about us loudly enough for the entire dining room to turn and stare as we walked in. If you've never been the main character in someone else's gossip at a restaurant... let me tell you, it's not the ambiance we were hoping for. When my guests told me about his behavior, I went to speak with him directly (which is when he decided to lie to my face about the comments he'd made). According to him, he never mentioned revenue. Odd, because every one of my guests told me the exact same story. But please, do go on. He proceeded to question me about my party size and my tardiness. To which I apologized but also mentioned the seating delay. I told him he owed my guests an apology. He offered me the most robotic, dead-eyed, "I'm only doing this so you'll stop talking to me" apology I've ever witnessed. He apologized to me -not the people he disrespected -- and followed it up with the charming line: "I'm sorry. Is there anything else you want?" Yes. Respect. Professionalism. Human decency. But I could tell those weren't on the menu. At that point, I didn't trust him not to spit in our food, so we left. No meal, no celebration, no reason to ever return. My entire party and I made the only reasonable decision: we left. We will not be eating there again. And honestly, if polite service, integrity, or basic human decency matter to you, you might consider doing the same. To the waitstaff -you're wonderful. To the owner - you might want to try treating guests with the same respect your staff already shows. It's remarkable how far that can go in hospitality.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND: We didn't get to enjoy anything at this establishment as we ended up leaving. The owner was so rude and blatantly disrespectful. He was more concerned with his Revenue as he put it. We were waiting on other persons to arrive for the surprise birthday dinner for my daughter. He wanted to remove one of the tables that we had reserved. We informed him that we were still waiting on people and asked if he would wait to make sure we had enough room for our party. He proceeds to tell us that he was losing Revenue and what did we presume he do about that. He continued to be rude and make comments so I asked if he would like to lose more Revenue by us leaving. His attitude and demeanor is definitely unbecoming. I have never been treated like that by an owner. We left once the birthday girl arrived. I refused to be treated rudely in an establishment that I am spending my hard earned money in. He missed out on hundreds of dollars tonight. This saddens me because I heard good things about this place but my FIRST and ONLY experience was awful. He wouldn't even apologize to those of us that he offended. I am good. We went to another establishment and had a wonderful time. 11/28/25
Called in a reservation for 7:15. Got there on time and they said they were behind, no problem... it happens. Waited 20 min past our reservation time and then they called our name. When they realized we had a teenager with us they said we couldn't sit in the bar area, even though the law restricting minors from entering a bar area has been repealed for over a year in indiana, and they didnt know when they could get us in.
Follow state law and dont take the reservation unless you can keep the reservation. Probably won't be back.
Didn't ask us if we had anyone under 21 when they took the reservation. Didn't request the bar area, we said we didnt care. Very frustrating. There are plenty of good restaurants in the area, pick another one.
Loved everything about it! Great anniversary dinner!!

Cold, stark atmosphere in the dining area, the bar looked more inviting. The server was also not personable. The menu was OK. Nothing about the place makes me want to return

This place is immaculate! The decor is warm and inviting. Very intimate and cozy vibe. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. We absolutely loved Kylee B. She was the best! Super friendly, professional and knowledgeable. She even brought me fresh hot bread (which they usually only serve with soup) just because I asked. Nom, nom, nom. I did not get the bartenders name, but she was super friendly and bubbly as well. Food was top notch! We will definitely be back. This place, the food, vibe and the people just blew us away. Highly recommend.

Food, atmosphere, and staff are all amazing.
It's a great experience. Wait was a little slow at times, but it lets you somewhat sink in to the atmosphere. My steak was great and my wife loved her fish.

Celebrated my wife's bday on Monday, October 20th, 2025. Had a delightful beautiful dinner. Meal was delicious and our server Diego was fantastic! I had the chef special pork chop and my wife had a shrimp pasta dish meal. Beautiful new restaurant. Loved everything and we will be back.
