We were just passing through Fort Wayne and stopped here for dinner on a weeknight. The ambience was a pleasant diner experience, with a friendly greeting and comfortable seating. Now, for the menu. An amazing variety of Greek food, Mexican food, American fare, burgers, blue plate specials, breakfast specialties, sandwiches, soups, and all kinds of tempting entrees. Turkey being one of my favorite foods, I ordered the hot turkey manhattan (they roast their own turkey in house) and it was FABULOUS. For $10.95 I got a huge portion of tender roast turkey and mashed potatoes, perfect gravy, their famous lemon chicken rice soup, and a dessert! Since I had so much deliciousness to devour, my sister enjoyed the soup (one of her favorites), which she raved over, along with a fresh, hot reuben and fries. We each left with half our dinners to enjoy later. The third sibling ordered a plentiful, fresh, delicious Tilapia Florentine, which she declared equally “Yummy”. The service was attentive, prompt, and very friendly. We all felt the food was undeniably fresh, well and thoughtfully prepared and more than reasonably priced, and agreed that if we lived anyplace nearby, that would be our favorite spot.
A family restaurant you'll want to write home about!

Wonderful large selection on the menu. Will update when we visit again. Greek and Mediterranean specialties, Mexican specialties, breakfast all day, and a t-bone steak that was honestly inexpensive. That said, the chicken-rice-lemon (avgolemono) soup was terrific (tangy and comforting at the same time), the baked potato was scrumptious -perfectly baked and its skin rubbed with salt before it went into the foil - but the steak was thin, tough and slightly overcooked (ordered med rare, got medium to medium-well). Coffee was, um, medium to light. Since I like fairly strong coffee, not to my taste, but the people were very nice and the place seemed clean and much loved by those who work there. I'm definitely willing to give it another try with a different order. Lots and lots of choices!

Lemon chicken rice soup was great. Cabbage rolls were a little underseasoned, but nothing salt and pepper couldn't fix. Staff was very attentive. Good attitudes all around. Menu is huge. Breakfast options all day are great.

Went for breakfast. Huge menu but somehow had trouble finding something I wanted. Enormous portion way too much for me to finish so that's a plus. The omelette was pretty good, a little overdone on the outside but very fluffy inside, potatoes were ok a little undercooked, toast comes in full slices. Place was absolutely packed but everyone was extremely friendly and made it a very pleasant experience.

From the moment you walk into Liberty Diner, you realize you’re not just entering an ordinary roadside spot — you’re stepping into something special. The atmosphere has that classic diner charm, but the quality of the food could easily rival a high-end restaurant. Every plate that leaves the kitchen looks like something you’d expect from a five-star establishment, but without the five-star price tag.
Let’s talk about taste. Every dish at Liberty Diner bursts with fresh, rich flavor — the kind that tells you everything is made with real care, not shortcuts. Whether it’s a hearty breakfast skillet, a juicy burger, or a perfectly cooked steak and eggs, the flavor balance is always spot-on. Even the sides, from crispy golden fries to homemade biscuits, taste like they were made from scratch by someone who loves what they do. It’s comfort food elevated — warm, satisfying, and incredibly well seasoned.
Then there are the portions. “Massive” doesn’t even begin to describe them. Each plate comes out piled high with food that would leave most people with leftovers for later. Yet, despite the generous servings, nothing ever feels greasy or overdone — just perfectly cooked and full of flavor. You truly get your money’s worth here, which is rare these days.
The pricing is another thing that sets Liberty Diner apart. For the quality and quantity you get, the prices are more than fair — they’re almost shocking. You could easily pay double or triple at a fancy restaurant and not come close to the same satisfaction. Liberty Diner proves that excellent food doesn’t have to break the bank.
The service ties it all together. The staff are welcoming, attentive, and genuinely seem to care about every guest’s experience. You’re greeted with a smile, your coffee cup never runs empty, and every order comes out just the way you asked for it. They treat you like family, which adds to the charm and keeps people coming back.
In short, Liberty Diner is the perfect blend of quality, quantity, and hospitality. It’s the kind of place that reminds you what great dining is supposed to be — amazing food, fair prices, and people who truly care about their customers. It might look like a small-town diner from the outside, but the taste and experience inside feel every bit like a five-star restaurant.
I’ll absolutely be back — and next time, I’m bringing friends.

First time in Indiana…wanted local food. What’s better than a local diner. Great service, unique atmosphere. I had the pork sandwich, ham & bean soup. Delicious is an understatement.
