My mom grew up in Fortwayne, as a child we grew up in the country about 2 hours away. We would visit my grandparents and aunts and uncles a few times through the year, amd every time she would take us here. I think the coney dog is the best hot dog you could ever have. As an adult I still live over an hour away and I bring my kids here once in a great while. Recently I have been living up at the NICU as my baby was 10 weeks early and Mr.Coney was close by. My husband has taken me here a couple times to get coney dogs. Every time I eat I smell and taste my child hood. Confort food during this hard time.

I asked if I could try the coney before ordering but couldn’t no big deal. However I wanted to order the sauce on the side then to be safe and was told I couldn’t. How silly.
Food portions were great along with prices but the food lacked flavor.
Then the cashier took my check but somehow rang me up for the whole table. My server came to fix it but while doing that another worker came up and so then the already confused cashier was trying to do two things at once. The cashier made it sound like I didn’t give her my bill with just my price.

Place seemed alright but the food was some of the most sub-par, mediocre coney’s I’ve ever had in my life, chili sauce tasted worse than just getting and making it from the canned chili at home, hotdogs are the pork and turkey kind which suck compared to an all beef dog, and to top it all off two of our family of 5 got horrendously sick from it.
It’s not worth it.

It is interesting to find a hot dog shop in Indiana. The cool thing is a good cheap place for lunch. We missed breakfast by a hour. But the hot dogs and the chili fries are good to have. Sorry, no pics. I thought I took pics of the meal.
Waitress was good at her job of service. She took and kept our orders without writing anything down! I was impressed with her! Great job young lady!

About twice a year I give in to my craving for a breaded tenderloin. This has become my go-to place. I drive through and grab my guilty pleasure and an order of fries. It always tastes great!
