It was ages between visits to Umi and I think I remember why. The pricing here is up there so just be aware of that. $19 for the Dynamite Shrimp appetizer. It's great but that's expensive in my book. $22 for the 1/2 Dr Singh roll. I remember liking this one a lot with the place first opened but I wasn't impressed this time. I'll need to go a couple more times to see if I find something amazing.
Great food, great portions and great staff. Very attentive and was able to make a substitution happen on a certain plate of food.
The service was excellent—friendly and attentive. However, I was disappointed with the ramen, as it didn’t meet my expectations, especially considering the price. I’ve had a lot of ramen, and unfortunately, this was one of the least enjoyable. I was hoping for a richer flavor and better overall quality.
Service is prompt, friendly, and always accurate. Delicious fresh food with plentiful portions.
Favorite sushi in ft Wayne. Started going to the Terre haute location and was very excited when they came to the fort. Favorite rolls are Dr. Singh and the Verve roll.
Gave several chances but the food is just so bland
Did away with the spicy seafood soup. That was my favorite dish. Dragon Roll is good though.
I recently went to Umi for my sister's birthday, and it was a pretty good experience overall. Our server was super nice and quick, which made the night enjoyable.
We did run into a couple of issues, though. The area we sat in was pretty cold, and it took almost 25 minutes for our appetizers to come out. We tried a bunch of different dishes, and while the portions were huge, the flavors were hit or miss—some were really spicy, while others didn't have much taste. I’d suggest sharing the dishes since there’s a lot on each plate.
We met some friends here. The food was great as were the drinks.
Best Sushi spot in northern Indiana by far! Miso soup took me back to Japan 🇯🇵

If you want food that looks great and want to spend a lot of money, here's the place.
But if you want great tasting food, DO NOT try this place.
We stopped at Umi Fort Wayne for dinner and had a great time. The food was fresh and made to order. We got the appetizer sampler and everyone ended up getting the rice bows. There are a lot of options to the rice bows and the portions are huge! Big enough for two meals. They have a great bar with plenty of house cocktails, or you can order your favorite classic. The atmosphere is cozy and dark, but very comfortable for conversation.
Vegetarian options: They have a lot rice options. They may have salads but I can't remember. Please be sure to ask your server about ingredients.
Dietary restrictions: Food is made to order. Be sure to ask your server about modifications or allergies as they do have a lot of fish and shell fish.
Parking: There is a large free parking lot that is part of a strip mall.
Kid-friendliness: Sushi may not be the favorite of some kids, but I know some who love it!
Wheelchair accessibility: This is on the first floor and they have low top tables.

The food is absolutely terrible. I’d honestly say grocery store sushi is better.
Some of the sushi with cooked salmon is extremely dry.
The menu is also really confusing, some of the prices are ridiculous, trying to charge 135$ for 9 pieces of nigiri is absolutely nuts.

Love this restaurant and everything about it is awesome. Food, service, drinks, couldn't ask for a nicer place to grab sushi at lunchtime.
