Delicious. I describe the flavor coco mixed with Brazil nuts and finishes sweet like chocolate. I only buy Ethiopian coffee and this ones the best out of the 4 other Ethiopian coffee beans I bought before. I bought a 5 lb bag and I wish I can buy more before it runs out, but good quality comes a price.

A very warm, balanced medium roast. With some other-brand coffees, the mediums taste more like medium-dark to me, with an emphasis on the latter. The Holiday Hearthside feels like a true smack-in-the-middle medium roast, neither too bitter nor too acidic.

We've been making pour overs from that roast as well as the Ethiopia Guji Uraga and Kenya Kaiguri roasts and couldn't be more impressed with the roast quality and flavor profiles of the beans. We will be repeat customers for sure, all the way from the west coast! Great work, Utopian!

I tried Utopian for the first time on the recommendations of friends. I wasn't sure which one to order but since I prefer a darker roast I settled on Espresso Volo which it said on the website is medium dark. When I picked up my coffee, the bag showed the roast to be medium light. I wasn't sure if it was marked wrong or roasted wrong, but the color indicated it wasn't medium dark. Needless to say I was a little disappointed.
My staple is Costa Rica but I tried Summer Days and WOW can you say summer in a cup. It was love at first sip.

Excellent 96 rated Ethiopian coffee on Coffeereview.com @ an excellent price. I periodically try and, occasionally find, coffees from Latin America or Sumatra that I like but I find more Ethiopian coffees to my taste than from any other provenance.

I found this roaster through coffeereviews.com as offering a 95+ coffee. I was pleased to see it was also a good value. I ordered their Ethiopian natural Ayala Bombe, and it is as good as promised. Extraordinary flavor and aroma. I have already reordered. Great as filter and espresso.
