Been going to the Grill Bar for a couple years. They are usually busy so a wait isn’t uncommon. The burgers are worth it though. Tonight was a bit different, long wait just to order our drinks. The owner was condescending from the start. I asked for my burger to be salted. Apparently that’s now an out of bounds request that the grill cook would have to okay. Spoiler, he did not. Took much longer than usual to get our food, likely because the grill cook was mulling over the salt request. Our waitress only checked on us when it was time to leave. Not sure what changed, but it should be changed back…

From the diverse and educated atmosphere to the world class cheeseburger, this was a life changing experience and I’ll make sure to come back every chance I get.

I’ve always loved Grill Bar for its history and sentimental value, but after my recent visit for my brother’s 21st birthday, I won’t be returning. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was hostile. Our waitress never introduced herself, made us feel like a burden, and barely checked on our table despite the bar being nearly empty.
After waiting too long for a second round, we had to go to the bar ourselves. When she eventually returned, another employee approached us to deliver an unsolicited “life lesson” about not “talking shit” about her “girl”—all because we quietly noted the waitress’s rude attitude.
This was, without a doubt, the most unprofessional and uncomfortable experience I’ve had here. I always support local businesses, but I can’t support one that treats its customers with such disrespect.

Worst first bar experience ever. Waitress and her “friend” were very rude. It was a 21st bday and she accused us of “talking shit” and told us she has a “life lesson”. Completely uncalled for as we were doing absolutely nothing besides celebrating a birthday. Never going back.

irst time at this place — and it immediately left a great impression. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, without trying too hard. Sometimes you just want to be somewhere that feels natural: the conversations, the music, the food, even the cups. And here, everything just fits.
Drinks are served without fuss — but with a sense that someone actually cared. Light, fresh, and perfect after a hot day. And when it’s time to eat, the menu doesn’t disappoint. The burger was prepared with attention, the flavor balance was spot on, and the texture just right. It’s clear the kitchen operates with honesty, no gimmicks or distractions.

Stopped in after an Artcraft showing, both of us ordered the half-pound burger with chips. Pretty busy and potentially understaffed, but our server held her own and still did a good job taking care of us. Burger was big and juicy but not too greasy. My only complaint is a lack of seasoning on the meat itself, but condiments helped this a lot. Overall a tasty thick burger at an extremely reasonable price. Would likely return if in the area.

My first time in Franklyn. Small town with the best people. Looked around on Reddit for burgers as I usually do. Found this.
So glad I did. Went Thursday, Friday and Saturday night after long hot days.
I’m a fancy guy, high end tequila and fresh juice is my jam.
Not here, not now, enjoy the moment.
The moment, was a beautiful, fresh, miller light in a just perfectly oversized plastic cup.
So fresh and light.
All is right in the world.
Then I got hungry.
I did come for a burger.
Honest kitchen.
Get bacon on your burger.
Wish they put tallow in the fryer. But you can’t have it all.
If your are a whiny person who complains about everything and generally start sentences with the word I. Please stay away.
If you enjoy nice people, who enjoys fun times and memorable (fuzzy)times. Open your heart and mind and visit grill bar.

Slooooowww…. Don’t go here if you’re in a hurry. It took us two hours just for lunch. There was one server, one cook, and one gal on prepping buns and condiments. I don’t know why they don’t have another person on the fry and one person on the grill. The cook was in no hurry at all. The server was running around and very busy, but wasn’t extremely friendly. And didn’t check on us that often even after trying to flag her down.
The tables were gross. Just kind of grimy. The mirror in women’s bathroom behind Toliet gives me the creeps too….
You do get pretty cheap. Decent big beers with limited options. And the burger was pretty good and thicker. The sides were just basic basic basic. Just deep fried no love or added anything. Pretty good portions also

We had very good service on a very busy day. The staff seemed to work very well together helping each out as needed. I really enjoyed the cheeseburger and fries.
