This place has been on my list to try for quite a while. I finally made it to the area to be deeply disappointed. I wanted a loaf of bread. Unfortunately, you have to order ahead. I did not know that. So I took a cinnamon roll and a pumpkin bar to go. Cinnamon roll was hard as a rock for Saturday noon. I’m not sure when it was made. The pumpkin bar was incredibly moist. I’d love to know how they were able to keep that moisture in. It was decent, but it was not very sweet. I would give the pumpkin bar four stars, and the cinnamon roll a one star. I really wanted to love this place. Thankful they are trying…

Stopped in on Saturday for a treat on the way to one of our daughter's events. The amount of time it took for someone to approach us at the register should've been concerning enough, and we questioned twice whether to just leave before ever ordering. We should have... we bought 6 cookies, 2 each of peanut butter, chocolate chip and sprinkle, 1 German chocalate brownie and 1 peanut butter bar. Ill begin with the cookies. The peanut butter cookie was ok, not notable/no complaints. The sprinkle cookie was so dry it basically turned to dust when you bit it. The chocolate chip was similar but was fortunate enough to be good together by the chocolate chips. The German chocolate brownie was disappointing as well. Towards the center was gritty from not being fully cooked.
My friend and I had lunch here the other day because we've eaten here several times in the past and always enjoyed it. I ordered the egg salad sandwich, a side of vegetable soup, a pumpkin bar, and some hot tea. Imagine my surprise when the bill was $39 and some change! It's never been that expensive before. I suppose I should have questioned it, but I was caught off guard. The food was ok, but not $39 ok. I'm not sure if their prices have gone up a lot, or if I was seriously overcharged, but I will definitely think twice about going back.

AMAZING!!! Even if you are not gluten free. Went with my fam and enjoyed 4 different coffees…specialty lattes and all were amazing! Also had biscuits and gravy, two sandwiches, and a blueberry muffin as the group. Everything was delicious! My daughter described the b&g as “Memaw Level” which is a HUGE compliment! Everyone was super kind and helped with making recommendations!

I got one of their gluten free muffins at Pleasant View Orchard. It is the best gluten free muffin I have ever had!! I will be making a trip there to try more of their gluten free goodies.

The amount of time it took to stand in line was insane. One person just having a Sunday conversation at the register and holding up the entire line, all while the other two employees just stood around wondering what to do with the line growing longer and longer.
The store it’s self is SO SMALL and has too many chairs and too many tables for people to even get to the counter.
I was literally standing over someone eating just trying to get a slice of quiche and leave.
1 piece of quiche, to go, not heated and I was waiting for 30 minutes!!! And 1 slice of quiche is $13, I hope it tastes better than I think it will as I’m writing this review.
Go to Main and Madison!!!
P.S. UPDATE- the manager comes out to say we’re sorry you feel that took so long. ‘You feel’ do better. How about we heard your concerns and we’re looking into the matter.
We will not be back, seriously Main and Madison is SO MUCH BETTER and you can walk and you don’t tower over other customers who are trying g to eat while you’re waiting to order.

1823 Bakehouse is a great local coffee shop. It is exclusively gluten-free, which is a plus for people that need that. They have milk alternatives and some vegetarian/vegan options for pastries and meals. Their board is clearly marked as to what options are vegetarian/vegan/allergen free.

Breakfast “sammie” tasted as good as it looked. A little bit of perfection.

Loved the cryptids on the wall and overall decor and the gluten-free ham and Swiss is so good I could cry definitely the best gluten-free sandwich I have ever had.
Love this place! I stop here every time I'm in Franklin! The vegan chocolate muffins are so good 👍 😋
