I ordered a 10 inch layer cake from 1823 Bakehouse. This was for a person with a significant number of dietary restrictions. I called around to several other bakeries that offer gluten free cakes, but none of them could, or would, handle an order like this one. 1823 made a fantastic cake that met all of the restrictions that the person that the cake was for had. Even people who aren't gluten free loved this cake. It was really good. The owner, and her staff, were great to work with! I have also had several of their other baked products. Everything is gluten free, and it is excellent. I don't have gluten restrictions, and I do not like a lot of the gluten free things I have tried. But 1823 makes Gluten free fun and fantastic! Hats off to 1823! Go there, you will love it.

Ordered the blonde Cuban…only ate half before I started feeling sick. So I was going to just eat the chips to feel full but there was a hair on them. My family decided they would order as well even though medically necessary and they did not enjoy the regular Cuban said her stomach hurt as well (no issues with restrictions) nor the nachos. 3 days later I finally feel half normal again.

There's not a ton of seating. The food is good and allergy friendly. The staff is helpful. It's a welcoming environment.

The only vegan option was a chocolate muffin. I wanted the advertised vegan sandwich which doesn’t exist. The muffin was good.
We love coming to this location.

It's great to have a a dedicated gluten free restaurant in Central Indiana as there aren't many. The service and atmosphere was nice but the baked goods had far too much sugar that it canceled out the flavor. They even ice the muffins.

As someone who was recently diagnosed with Celiac, 1823 Bakehouse has been a true bright spot in my life, and it has become a common haunt for me since moving to Franklin. Everything about the place is wonderful, from the staff (who are always friendly and helpful whenever I've had questions), to the plethora of seating and the wifi, to the coffee and food. Definitely check them out! And as a bonus, they have an awesome collection of loose leaf teas and miscellaneous knickknacks for sale also!

Went for the first time and they were out of choc chip cookies. They said come back in 10 minutes and they'd have some made. And we they did and they were one of the best choc chip cookies I've ever had. I consider myself a cookie conisour (cookie monster). ?
