This. Place. Is. FANTASTIC. If you cannot eat gluten, you will think you've died and gone to heaven. I had an iced shaken oat milk espresso, the Cuban, and the vegan chocolate muffin.
Definitely was most impressed with the muffin. It was unbelievably moist (how did they do that without eggs???? Must be magic.) and the texture was indistinguishable from a regular muffin. Most GF baked goods have a distinct, grainy texture but this muffin was fluffy, dreamy, delicious.
The Cuban was also good, you can definitely tell that the bread is gluten free but it holds up quite well, and the fixings in the sandwich are delicious. Perfect amount of mustard.
The espresso was also great; I don't like my coffee super sweet so I didn't get any flavorings added. I could taste the espresso and the espresso was done RIGHT. No dead shots here.
Vibes are impeccable. Food is great. Coffee is fresh. My new go to anytime I'm in Franklin.

We enjoyed our time at the 1823 Bakehouse. Some backgroundmusic would have made the experience better. The treats were absolutely delicious. Coffee was good in flavor but not crafted too well. Drinks to enjoy right there, served in a papercup is also a little bummer. Still nice tho :)

If you or someone in your family is gluten free 1823 Backhouse is a must! The food is amazing even if you do not have gluten restrictions. The people are super friendly and helpful! This is going to become a regular visiting place for us! Oh and the coffee selection is amazing!

Immaculate vibes! I was worried that I wouldn’t enjoy the baked goods as I’m not gluten free but everything was delicious the brownie was one of the best I’ve had in a while. The butter beer latte was great, the s’mores latte was meh and the smoothie was good. Overall would definitely stop by again!

I ordered a 10 inch layer cake from 1823 Bakehouse. This was for a person with a significant number of dietary restrictions. I called around to several other bakeries that offer gluten free cakes, but none of them could, or would, handle an order like this one. 1823 made a fantastic cake that met all of the restrictions that the person that the cake was for had. Even people who aren't gluten free loved this cake. It was really good. The owner, and her staff, were great to work with! I have also had several of their other baked products. Everything is gluten free, and it is excellent. I don't have gluten restrictions, and I do not like a lot of the gluten free things I have tried. But 1823 makes Gluten free fun and fantastic! Hats off to 1823! Go there, you will love it.
