We are from out of town and saw Clay's got good reviews. Although online it said 7pm closing...we got there to find it closing at 6. (Winter hours) but a gal saw us walking back to our car and called us in. We are glad she did! Delicious! We had fish and shrimp w coleslaw (housemade) a Butterscotch pie! Wow! Def will be back to Clays!

I went to Clay's late Sunday morning. There were 2 choices--breakfast buffet or light lunch. I chose breakfast. The buffet was close to empty--no toast, gravy for biscuits, no bacon, no French toast. The only thing were scrambled eggs, quiche slices, Hostess mini donuts, and pancakes. After telling the staff the buffet conditions, I took the last slice of ham and returned to my seat to wait. 20 minutes later, I was still waiting. I spoke to the waitress and said that $15 seemed high for a small slice of ham. She apologized and brought me two slices of French toast and bacon that were meant for the buffet, but she deverted it to me. The waitress was wonderful, but I don't think I will eat here again.

Quiet family dining. Service was quick and friendly by all staff. Waitress was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. We didn't have to wait long for our food. We ordered a fish sandwich, bruschetta pasta and bourbon chicken breast with fries and cottage cheese. The bruschetta pasta was a bit underwhelming but everything else tasted good.

Food was poor at best, eggs were raw, bacon was over done, potatos were cold and dry, sausage was mushy and at 15 dollars per person i could have gone to Mcdonalds and got a better meal , should have shut it down when the clays retired but the service was good.

Cute little diner with a plentiful breakfast buffet. We had eggs, bacon, french toast, american biscuits and some pancakes. They also had quiche which tasted amazing. The service ladies were really lovely and we felt welcome. That‘s why we returned for a BLT with housemade fries - definitely recommend!

We stop by a couple of times a year at least, for many many many years. Whew, it has really gone downhill! It was our most favorite restaurant ever, and it needs a serious turnaround. We have been giving it the benefit of the doubt from our last couple of visits, but no more. We paid over $56 (before tip) for two specials and a couple of pieces of surprisingly mediocre pie. No coffee served “at certain times of the day”??? I guess an hour before closing does not warrant a fresh pot, really really disappointing for a place the was so famous for their pie.I hope management heeds this review, and the other honest reviews written here in recent months. Put some background music on, the place was like a morgue.I practically never give bad reviews, but I want to save others of an expensive and disappointing detour. However, I do wish the place well and I hope they fix the problems.

To be honest the food tastes homemade. The hamburger meat is thick and fresh, but the tomatoes are not fresh. The waitress is very friendly and on task.
