Iron Skillet used to be one of my favorite places to eat a few years back but I don't know if it is corporate, local management or what, but this chain doesn't offer the same "Iron Skillet" experience anymore, in my opinion. My wife and I were traveling back home and we were hungry, since Petro is one our way home, I suggested it to my wife and she reminded me that I have had bad experiences with them lately and if I wanted to eat there, be ready to be disappointed more than likely.I like to believe that not every place is the same and maybe we would have a great experience here (wishful thinking....)Upon arrival, we were not greeted by anyone even though they saw us come in. I had to ask if we would sit anywhere we want.At the table the server greeted us and ask us for our drinks. My wife ordered regular coffee, I ordered decaf. A few minutes later server comes back with just regular coffee and tells me she's brewing decaf and it'd be a little while, no problem, I can understand that.Server takes our food order and we wait...Until now things were okay but from here on, things went downhill fast! That one cup of coffee my wife got was gone pretty fast and while the server did bring one of their coffee pots, it barely had any for a refill. Both coffee pot and cup got set on the side of the table for the server to see and realize we needed a refill.About 15 minutes later food order comes to the table incomplete. (I ordered an omelette which on the menu clearly states comes with hash browns AND toast OR biscuits)Server brought me an omelette with no hash browns and minutes later came back with the toast. When I ask for the rest of my food order, server tried to say that the omelettes come with either hash browns, toast or biscuits but not hash browns and toast. I asked her for the menu and showed her that in fact the menu says omelette WITH hash browns AND toast or biscuits.Server says hash browns will take a few minutes.By this time (approx 20 minutes or so), I still hadn't gotten my decaf coffee. I was not happy about that! However, at least my wife got a refill on her coffee. My wife wasn't feeling well so she wanted to go.By the time the server brought the hash browns to our table, I just asked for two to-go boxes and also asked her to just cancel my coffee since I never got it. Server comes back to the table with the to-go boxes and check and on the check they're charging me for 2 coffees and a side of toast???I requested to speak to a manager and once the person in charge came to our table, I told him the situation and that I wasn't gonna pay for 2 coffees when I only got one and not gonna pay for toast that is already included in the meal.He tried to argue that there were two cups for coffee in our table and that's why they were charging me for 2 cups.I told him that I never got my decaf and the second cup was the refill the server brought to my wife's coffee. He also tried to argue that the extra side of toast was charged for the toast my wife asked for. (Included in her meal according to the menu)Person in charge dropped the extra items charged in our ticket and I paid the bill and left very unhappy but above all, extremely disappointed!!!I have had enough bad experiences in the Iron Skillets I have visited to decide I am never going back to one.❌ Horrible service!❌ Food portions could be bigger for the prices they're charging nowadays.❌ Knowledge of servers and management staff of their own menu.

The server, Hanna, was very sweet, but it took them more than half an hour to prepare my Steerburger. It was also overcooked. It was very slow and there was plenty of staff.

Drove 3 extra hours to get to a truck stop that actually has a restaurant in it, only to find they’re out of ground beef.No Texas steerburger dinner, no hamburgers. So I ordered breakfast instead.Everything was good except the pancakes. I’d have played frisbee with them with my dog, but didn’t want him to break a tooth!!

Sat down to eat and got ignored by the staff. If you don't look like an American then you don't get service. I waited for 10 minutes and nothing but an American sits down less then a minute they get a menu

Food and service is great. It is a truck stop, so the food has to be good.
