Everything I’ve ever ordered from here has exceeded my expectations. They keep a short menu to focus on quality, and rotate to introduce new flavors. But one constant is the Helles Lager Baked French Onion Soup. The brewery is reminiscent to me of "The Store" on Halsted and Armitage, where a famous band played. Enjoyed my beer, and thought it was a great venue. When did their Schwarzbier become one my favorites? Not a place I wouldn't come to again. Not a bad choice for first brewery on a tour. I only remember to visit because my relatives were going to pay for my beer here.
When we went apple picking in NW Indiana near Chicago (Oct. '24), we discovered New Oberpfalz Brewing in Griffith, IN. What a great brewery+pub with outdoor and indoor seating to observe Oktoberfest! German cuisine on their menu was very typical of Gasthausen (guest houses) in Bavaria, The variety of their beers, lagers, and ciders created unexpected options to choose from to pair with the menu.
