Pure insanity! Taken to Willie and Reds in Hagerstown by family, who promised an all you can eat buffet. I've heard that claim before, but never coupled with such a great variety of dishes and deserts. Chicken, beef, pork..all good. Chicken livers I won't eat but others remarked how good they were. Sausage, salads,sauces... if you leave hungry it's your own fault. And then desert.. 6 or 8 ice-cream and a dozen different pies. Served by Daisy, efficient and attentive to our needs she did good job. Can I recommend? Oh yes... We're traveling the 50 miles again next week for round two. Excellent value, excellent food

The hostess was super kind, our server was a very pleasant young man, refilling our drinks and taking away dirty dishes often, and the food...? AMAZING! This is one of the best buffets (they refer to it as a smorgasbord) I've ever been to and the price is great as well! The salad bar had a great variety of vegetables, toppings and dressings and the best beets I've ever eaten! The main entrees were all amazing, from veggies, to meats, to the ROLLS! And, then I had to squeeze in a dessert, and it was a hard choice! I ended up trying a brownie and strawberry cream cheese dessert. Both were AMAZING! Needless to say we left beyond full, but it was so well worth it! We live in Indianapolis and found this place on our way traveling home. We decided it's worth the drive just to go eat here again sometime! Highly recommend!!!

We discovered this restaurant by googling buffets near the Centerville IN area. We came across the name of Willie and Red's. A little off our way home but decided to give it a try. Late Sunday afternoon. Quiet little town. We found parking right in front of the building and went in. Hostess had us seated in a matter of a couple minutes. Server came and got our drink orders and asked if we wanted a menu or were we there for the buffet. Buffet for us! Buffets are getting to ber few and far between unless you go Chinese of Golden Corral. Nice selection on the salad bar, crisp lettuce, toppings, Potato Salad, Pea Salad, Broccolli Salad, Onion Straws, home made croutons, Chopped Eggs, Cheese, the usual suspects. Main line was Fried Chicken, Rowast Beef( excellant, not dry and stringy like a lot places, MeatBalls, Steamed Mussels, Broiled Fish, ande a frew otheers that don't come readily to mind. Pretty normal on veggies, Mashed Potatoes, Corn, Country Green Beans, Candied Sweet Potatoes, Peas, Carrots, again more than I can remember. Chicken and Noodles, for my Mashed Potatoes, Freid Potatoes, Rolls, etc. Desserts were Strawberry Rhubarb Pie, Cherry Pie, Apple Pie, a Peanut Butter Pie, Chocolate Pie, Cherry Cheesecake, Hand Dipped Ice Cream, 6 flavors I think, and a fresh sofr serve Lemon Ice Cream. We were impressed. The best part was the bill. $16.95/person, drink included. They also had a 2 fer deal. Half Rack of Ribs and/or a Sirloinf for $31.00. I would imagine a cpl sides were included. The restaurant required plastic gloves for the buffet and they had two tables set up with disposable gloves. One had to wear gloves at the buffet line. When we make our semi-annual Flea Market excursion to Centerville, we will be sure to 'go off the beaten path, and visit Willie and Red's again!

This was my 2nd visit, my sister-in-law has been a regular visitor in the past. Our food was delicious from the cream of onion soup to our choice of dessert, an ice cream brandy Alexander. Two of us had filets and one of us had the prime rib. We were all happy with our choices and boxes went home. The prices are awesome from drinks to dinner. Great service from the waitress to the bartender, both of whom have worked here for many years. Will definitely return.

We went to Willie and Red's on a Friday night just after opening. We were hoping to beat the crowds during the pandemic. We were seated immediately in the dining room with the water wheel. Our waitress was around within about 10 minutes. She took our drink order and told us to help ourselves to the Smorgasbord. My husband wanted their 8oz Prime Rib instead, so he placed his order with the waitress while we went to go check out the Smorgasbord. Upon entering the back room with the buffet tables, we noticed that they had a table there with gloves and hand sanitizer. It instructed patrons to wear gloves whenever they were visiting the Smorgasbord. Inside we took a look at what all was on the buffets. There appeared to be a hot buffet, cold buffet, soups and a dessert buffet. The hot buffet started with vegetables such as corn, carrots, green beans, turnips and brussels sprouts. There were starchy items like mashed potatoes & gravy, chicken-n-noodles, beef-n-noodles, baked beans, mac-n-cheese, yams, dinner rolls, warm cinnamon apples and spaghetti with red sauce. For protein we saw fried chicken, meatballs, smoked sausage, sliced beef and turkey. There were several fried items at the end of the bar which appeared to include clam strips and popcorn shrimp. There was also a grilled or baked fish item. In the back of the room they had 2 soups, but they were not labeled. On the cold buffet there was fresh fruit, fruit salad, puddings, cottage cheese, apple sauce, various cold salads (macaroni, pasta, potato, cole slaw, etc), and a leafy green salad bar (lettuce, tomato, onion, cucumbers, carrots, raw broccoli, shredded cheese, beets, olives, eggs, etc). There really was a nice selection on all of the buffets. My only complaint is that NOTHING was labeled. I'm sure IF you are a regular, you KNOW what everything is, but as a visitor I was left guessing at some of the items. I wish they would have labeled the food items. The kids and I tried the fried chicken, chicken-n-noodles, beef-n-noodles, mashed potatoes, cottage cheese, rolls, turkey, mac-n-cheese and cinnamon apples. We all LOVED the fried chicken. It was delicious. It was tender, juicy and had an amazing crispy/crunchy breading on the skin. YUM. We also loved the mac-n-cheese and cinnamon apples. The chicken-n-noodles were also very good. They were very hearty and tasted homemade. We were not fans of the turkey, mashed potatoes or dinner rolls. The dinner rolls were hard and had an odd taste. My husband LOVED his prime rib entrée. He said it was cooked perfectly (medium-rare) & was very tasty. The Prime Rib special came with the choice of 2 sides (mashed potatoes & mac-n-cheese), a HUGE plate of crispy onion straws and a taco dip as his appetizer. He loved the taco dip. He shared with us and we all agreed that it was very good. He also shared his crispy onion straws, which were amazing. After dinner, the kids and I made our way back to the Smorgasbord for our trip to the dessert buffet. There was a HUGE selection of sliced pies, brownies, cakes, ice cream and cobblers. There appeared to be chocolate pudding pie, peach pie, pecan pie, coconut cream pie, apple pie, the "unofficial state pie" sugar cream pie & one I could not identify. They also had 2 hot cobblers to choose from: apple and blackberry. They had a cheesecake bar with cherries and whipped cream for toppings. They also had soft serve ice cream and about 8 selections of hand-dipped ice creams to choose from. We got the blackberry cobbler with vanilla soft serve, a slice of sugar cream pie, a mint chocolate chip ice cream cup with sprinkles and a cookies-n-cream ice cream cup with m&ms/sprinkles/chocolate chips. We ALL enjoyed our desserts. Their sugar cream pie was delish! I would highly recommend it. Kids enjoyed their ice creams. Cobbler was OK. Overall, we had a very good experience with Willie & Reds. Most of our food was amazing. Some of it was just OK, but nothing was terrible. The prime rib and fried chicken were the big winners this evening! Prices were average.

Friendly atmosphere and delicious food. Hot and fresh. The salad bar had so many options. The fried chicken was super crunchy and moist and juicy. Will definitely come back.

Most of the food seemed prepackaged and/or frozen. As a first time visitor I was disappointed on the variety and quality of the food. Our server was not very friendly or helpful. I asked for a spoon and had to go find one myself. Our plates were piled up and never removed, our drinks were rarely refilled and when they were it was from pitchers of flat soda they prefill and wheel around the dining room. Wish I had gotten a chance to try it when it was Welliver’s.

salad was good but that's about it. definitely won't be going back. served cafeteria style and didn't offer to tell you what was covered. food was dry and tasteless. servers were just ok. sure not what it used to be

was looking forward to having a great dinner. Sadly disappointed. Food was cold, turkey tough and stringy. Onion soup had a different taste too much chives, even the crackers were stale. Only food tasty was the salad bar. I will try again hopefully the cook will do better and they keep the food warmer. Knew someone that went Dec 2, 2020 stated food was cold that day also.

We came with family it was quite a treat since we haven't been here in years. We ordered off the menu in the bar. I remembered the chicken livers and was not disappointed. The BarB Q ribs were so tender they fell off the bone. The mashed potatoes and gravy were great. If we lived closer we would eat here more often. Great home style food.

Huge portions in the bar/ dining room. We skipped the buffet and ordered off the menu. Basicall good home style grub. Chicken liver appetizer is $7 and enough for four people. Mashed potatoes and gravy are huge and delicious. Blackb and bleu burger was great. Pork chip was overdone but very good. Fried chicken, ribs, all enormous and tasty.

It’s a great place to sit and be able to talk with your friends even though the smorgasbord was more like cafeteria style it was still very nice
