One of the worst restaurant experiences we’ve ever had. We were weary snowmobile travelers from Wisconsin coming back from a nearly 600 mile trip. We decided to stop at this restaurant based on the 4.5 Google star reviews. How in the world it ever reached that number is remarkable. There’s absolutely no way we’d even rank it close to a 2 star restaurant - 1 star at best.
Here’s why:
It was nearly 630 pm with very little dinner patrons. The pub directly next door was packed. The signage for the restaurant was poor. As you walk into the restaurant, it was questionable. Floors dirty, tables dirty, walls with extremely weird flair and paraphernalia. Furniture was way outdated. We nearly walked out but thought to give it a try.
It was fish fry Friday. I ordered the perch while my buddy ordered a fish sandwich. This was some of THE WORST cooking I’ve ever had. The only thing close to being edible was the coleslaw that had a familiar taste of store bought. The breaded perch tasted microwaved and was hard to chew. No way it was ever fried this date - tasted like stale leftovers. The salad consisted of iceberg lettuce and a chopped tomato. I could not finish it and left feeling hungry. My buddy’s fish sandwich was reminiscent of a McDonald’s square breaded fish sandwich topped with pickles, onion and tomato. My buddy said it was not very tasty.
The waitress, although friendly when we first arrived, was not pleasant when we tried to converse with her. She didn’t even dispense with any pleasantries upon leaving. Although her service was fast, we dropped to 3 stars due to lack of any conversing toward the end of our meal. We left the restaurant around 700 pm. Very disappointing experience. We were the only patrons in the restaurant when leaving. Extremely bizarre since it’s supposedly a 4.5 star rated Google review restaurant. As a top Google contributor, we could never recommend this restaurant.

We had purchased a coupon for a 50/50 deal. We decided to try it tonight. Called for directions which were very simple to follow. Food was excellent. Service was great. Prices were very good. We decided on a fish sandwich, seafood combo. which fed 2 of us. Potato, coleslaw, and cucumber salads were all homemade. Tarter and seafood sauce also homemade. You can tell how much they enjoy cooking for their customers. It was a very pleasant experience. We don't eat out often as we fix most everything from scratch. When we do go out as a treat 99% of the time we don't care for the food. This was GREAT!

We had the Italian beef sandwich dinners which were huge and came with plenty to have lunch the next day. Very tasty!
I visited here very recently after the switch to the new owner and operator. The owner was very kind and was deeply in love with her craft and newfound business in Hanna, IN. The service was excellent and speedy. The food was fresh and very tasty. I ordered their Patty Melt and Mac & Cheese Bites. The building itself is definitely a little rough, but it has been improved upon by the new owner. Businesses need cash flow for them to improve. If you like good food and good people, and you’re in the neighborhood, give Rumors II a shot!
