This is home-cooking @ it's best. One of the specials today was the volcano pot roast which I had because it's one of my favorites. The roast beef is tender & plentiful with gravy over mashed potatoes & on a piece of white bread with onion straws on top. Somehow that piece of white bread tastes so good with soaked up gravy & reminds me of my youth. Seasoned green beans with onion bits & bacon round out the perfect meal. I had the leftovers for supper & it's great reheated, too. Harlan Cafe has great skillet breakfasts, sampler, & pancakes & several different waffles done to perfection. Never had a bad meal here!

If you have a group of six or more they will charge you gratuity which is fine. But they charged us that because we had 4 adults and 2 babies under 1!! Then the bill was split 3 different ways and we all left over a 20% tip on each bill. Which is NOT okay. Our waitress made out with over 30$ off of our tip.
