The atmosphere was great. The drinks were delicious. Appetizer wings were good. My food was burnt. The manager saw and fixed the problem. Only problem I had it wasn't taken off my bill as promised. I'd try them again.

INFLATION FEE WAS ADDED TO MY BILL. THEY ALSO CHARGED GRATUITY FOR 3 PEOPLE. The bill was 200. Gratuity added and inflation fee. Neither fee was disclosed up front. With all fees it was 227. The fee was almost 6$. The waitress tried to explain the fee. In my book it was a because we were black fee! Don’t get me wrong food was great. The waitress would have gotten more than 15% if she hadn’t added the fee. Due to the current climate we came out to support. I will keep my support in my own neighborhood before I get charged stupid fees in the future.

I want to give a special thank-you to Ruby, the manager at El Capitan Mexican Restaurant, for her exceptional help in making my friend’s day so memorable. She went out of her way to accommodate us with special seating arrangements — and made sure everything was perfect for us!! Her kindness and flexibility truly stood out!

The service overall wasn’t the best that day, as they were unusually short-staffed, which made things move a little slower. Still, the food was good as usual, and Ruby’s genuine care and extra effort really made the overall experience positive as we all had a great time! Just wish mariachis sang longer!! Always nice hearing them !!
We are regulars here and I highly recommend El Capitan and look forward to coming back!

Very Very Unprofessional establishment with a Manager on duty name Ruby dressed as she was going to the gym with a belly shirt green and jogger pants w/ Running shoes. Ughhh no, whom was very unprofessional, unpologetic, and threatened me with my family my young child whom starting crying. She made an order well over $250 cash w/ great guest to an Order $47 and going to tell everyone not to go somewhere because this place is not welcoming all because a drink that was ordered was unsatisfied by guest did not like it and asked a replacement - instead we received NO YOUR GOING TO PAY FOR THIS DRINK BECAUSE YOU ORDERED IT AND I MADE IT RIGHT OR I'M GOING TO CALL THE POLICE! Really lady over $16.99 lol! Cancel everything including You lady. You're ridiculous and if you know anything about customer service don't waste your time at this place. GO spend your money with a much better ambience and customer service worthy establishment.

Customer service was awful and the girl RUBY that called herself the manager and the bartender or startender whatever you wanna call her was so unprofessional and didn’t know how to accommodate me and my wife ordering the wrong drink we asked to change it out and she said NO you ordered so you drink it with a attitude and threatened to call police on me in front of my toddlers over a $18 cocktail because I told her I wasn’t paying for a drink we didn’t touch in the pic below so we were charged of course first and last time going to this place WILL NOT RECOMMEND!!!

We did not get a an opportunity to try the food.
We walked out after 20 minutes of waiting for service. At 15 minutes we told the hostess we still hadn't been waited on waited 5 more minutes then went somewhere else in town.
There were plenty of empty tables. It didn't seem like being overly busy was the problem.
I have heard good things about the food so we might try again another time.

I went there on September 29th which is my birthday. But they didn’t know that because once the food came out there were so many issues that 1 by 1 every plate of food that was at the Table was wrong in some way. Let me my order the El Pirata gets an up charge for a cluster of crab. The cluster that came out barely had any meat and was scraps they pieced together to look like a cluster. I have been here many times and never once had this issue. And my daughter’s food was wrong. You can see it was wrong immediately. The server also forgot an order we didn’t receive almost until the end of the meal. My sons plate was swimming in oil and when we requested a manager the lady who can out was a younger Hispanic lady in a white shirt. She was immediately not trying to hear out anything I was saying. As if I was trying to get food for free. The issues I’m pointing out to this lady is not so I can get free food but so I can continue to do business there. But she was very rude and disrespectful. So let’s point out the facts here. I am a chef and I have been working in kitchens since 2012. Her talking down to me as if I don’t know what I’m talking about with food in front of my family on my birthday ruined that entire restaurant for me. I just bought a house in Hobart and I LOVED El Capitan which is why I went for my birthday. But as of now you will not be getting business from me. Who ever that manager was. here’s my advice. Do something else. The hospitality industry is not for you. And you simply acknowledging that there was a problem that day would have made me want to come back. But your attitude towards me in front of my family was disrespectful and embarrassing.
Let me end on a high note. There is an amazing server there I think her name is Cecilia I forgot my debit card there about a month ago and she was amazing as my server the night before and continued that same great hospitality! Promote her asap!

Loved the tilapia super tasteful and big portions! Tried the tacos and they were juicy they are more like small tacos! Honestly skip appetizers and go straight to the food, first time and coming back! Our waiter was super friendly. The place looks like you’re in a ship .

Best Mexican food in town for sure and decent prices. The food quality is very high, the servers are always wonderful, and dining in is a wonderful atmosphere. Very authentic, especially when compared to the chains. You can tell they care about their food, service, and restaurant.

I've had many of the non-seafood dinners, and my family has had those and most of the seafood dishes. We've never been disappointed dining in our carrying out in years and years of visiting. :)
