I’ve been coming to Capitan for about 3 years now and it’s always been one of my favorite restaurants. And I’d always order the same dish, breaded shrimp (camarones empanizados.) However, I was disappointed today when I received my dish and the shrimp and fries were different from when I used to order. The breading on the shrimp was not at the quality I remember and the fries were very small and unseasoned. Next time I’ll try a different dish, but disappointed that I can no longer order a favorite dish.
Worst place I have ever been service sucks

Welp. I hate to say this because i really enjoyed this restaurant when i would dine in. But it’s one of those fool me once, shame on me fool me twice and I’m done eating there. Months ago we called and order for pickup, TWO TACO DINNERS. It’s always loud there so we ALWAYS confirm our order. I pick it up and get home to find two individual tacos wi the some rice and beans. I’m like okay obviously that didn’t enter this right. We had to call and order and drive back to get the dinner. Fast forward and today my husband calls and order TWO el captain burritos and a side of ceviche. He confirms twice and makes sure it’s all understood. I’m driving home so i grab it. It’s snowing. I rush back to the car and home. AND WAH LA. 1 el captain burrito dinner and one random dry burrito . Not the dinner. Without the sauces. Like what. Never again. It’s loud near the front door where the phone is being answered. I know we can’t be the only people this happened to. I recommend placing your phone in a better location. Y’all can’t hear and ya can’t take orders. Well go to crappy el salto if we have to. I’ll never leave a restaurant without checking the bag for the rest of my life.

I've been going to this place for 8 years, and the food quality and environment are not the same anymore. The food portions are smaller and prices went up. I understand food inflation is a thing, but don't make portions smaller when you are already charging more. They have an inflation charge added to your bill at the end, as if they aren't already charging for it. It's just like a slap in the face.

The service was excellent! The atmosphere was great, they had karaoke night when we visited and it wasn't super loud or crazy. The food wasn't all that great and it is a bit pricey.

This place is a rip off. We ordered dinner, my wife ordered a Piña colada and we ordered is small guacamole along with our dinners. The piña colada cost $15 and a small guacamole cost eight dollars. That’s one avocado Smashed up plenty a little bowl that they use. At the end of the night we went to pay. They charge us a 3% inflation fee. What do you call $15 for a piña colada and eight dollars for one avocado smashed up? They are rip offs they’re overcharging you plus they charge you for inflation. Inflation is already added because of the high prices they charge for their alcohol and food and on top of that they’re charging you another 3% inflation fee. That is bullshit and I’m gonna turn them in to the Attorney General, because they are double dipping. You’re ripping off your customers that are keeping your doors open. You’re pathetic! Attorney General Complaint file tomorrow I promise you.😡😡😡

Please take your money elsewhere overpriced food if you can call it that. Portions are small and service is terrible. Greedy place for sure, food was not that great, if you even get any on your plate.

We went here, on New Year's Eve at lunch, when they opened. I did read the reviews first. I thought that we would give it a shot. Upon walking in we were not greeted right away. I know it's not necessary to be greeted immediately, but we waited there for what was becoming an uncomfortable amount of time and we were first in the door. There was also nowhere to wait. That was strange.
The restaurant was clean and it was nice. We did get our order taken. By then a few other people had come in. The other folks did get their food before us. We got some of our food and then, like some reviews mentioned, we were done with our food before the rest of the food came. That was kind of not great. We ended up taking the other food home.
I would say the food was very good, but the service was very subpar. I wouldn't say that anyone was rude, but I would say that they were not very timely or attentive unfortunately. I do not like to leave bad reviews, but everything was as a lot of the reviews have mentioned. For how not busy everything was, the service should have been much better. But again, the food was good. I just don't know that I would go back because it really was a very long wait for what we ordered.
