Mr. Pete runs the best Chinese restaurant in NWI, hands down. My family and I have been going to this restaurant for over 15 years and New Hong Kong never fails to impress. Whether in house dining or delivery, the food is always piping hot and delicious. The special combination meals are a great deal, and the teriyaki beef,chicken wing, and pot sticker appetizers are amazing. Mr. Pete, you have given Hobart an awesome gift with your business. I stumbled across this Chinese restaurant for the first time and was enormously, pleasantly surprised. Why?
First off the family atmosphere was very welcoming, friendly and inviting. I made my way to one of the booths and noticed how clean the dining area is. So far so good.
The server came and I was able to make a quick selection off of the lunch menu choosing the Kung Po Chicken lunch combo. While most competitors include an egg roll and fried rice, Hong Kong House also included a cup of your choice of soup. And was it delicious (hot and sour soup). Then the eggroll arrived. Appeared to be fresh and home made. A real treat. Wow.
Now it was time for the entree. Kung po chicken, which was overflowing on the plate with plenty of sauce and lots of chicken. Just the right amount of spice. Fabulous and overall some of the best Chinese food I have had.
In fact it was so good while I was working in the area the next day I stopped and had a repeat performance.
This place is worth a special trip as I will be doing from my home about 20 miles away.
If you are looking for a great value, fantastic tasting food, large portions and exceptional service, don’t let this place pass you by. It’s worth the drive and visit.

Pretty good, but I’m not exactly sure why everyone in Hobart loses their marbles anytime New Hong Kong is mentioned. I’d really hate to spoil the experience for everyone, but does the orange chicken kind of taste vaguely like strawberry jam to anyone else? The only other thing I can think of that I wasn’t exactly a fan of was the dumplings - they were a little too doughie for me. Still will give them 3 stars because I have to admit the vibe (from what I could tell) and the people working there were all splendid! (Truthfully maybe that’s what we’re missing is sitting in and maybe trying different dishes).

Your food sucks now. Idk if you changed owners or what but 15 years ago your food was phenomenal. Now your general tsos chicken has no taste. Everything is just bland and sub par. Will never order again.
