Every Tuesday evening I travel from Crown Point to Portage to meet with friends. I have to decide what restaurant I will eat dinner in on the way. This restaurant always calls me back so I pass countless restaurants on the way to always eat here. I crave the Hot and Sour soup, a pot of hot tea and the Barbecued Pork Lo Mein. Nothing better in N W Indiana. Great food.

I've been going here for years and unfortunately I feel like the quality of the food has gone down overtime. Everything was hot, however it didn't have a ton of flavor, it was kinda greasy, and overall just missed the mark for me.

This place is a hidden gem.! I was a chef in 2 5 star restaurants and I can say this place is as good as the best place in China town...I get the Coconut Chicken with Veggie Fried Rice and tea...I give this dish 10 stars,it is perfect.!! The whole family works here so it is as if they pull out a chair from their own table.They are super nice and want everything to be perfect.I ordered a take out for 20 people and it was better than expected..they added cookies.Once you try this place you will become a regular.!!

My meal was 60% rice and 40% meat. The egg roll was over cooked and most of the filling was not edible.

Rice Garden not only has delicious food but also great service! I ordered delivery and it got to my home within 30 minutes and was still steaming hot! Very great restaurant!

This is my favorite place to eat...the family that owns it are very friendly and go out of their way to make sure everything is perfect...I get the pepper steak with green peppers and tomatoes I upgrade to the veggie fried rice.,off the charts...I was a chef in a couple 5 star restaurants so I am.use to good food...this is a place that is a gem.!!!
