Stopped in after a 15 mile bike ride to get lunch with my husband. We were told 5-10 minute wait for the patio so while we waited we sat at the bar. The inside was pretty slow with only a couple tables while the patio was pretty full. We already had beers from the bar and then got seated. We ordered food and waited an hour. During our wait, we observed the server was frantic and trying to serve numerous tables inside and outside as she was the only server. Eventually she came back to us and apologized saying our ticket was lost and we could either wait again for our food or leave. We ended up leaving but felt bad for the server who was in tears. Shame on the owners and the manager for leaving this poor server to serve the whole restaurant by herself on Labor Day. The location was awesome being right on the lake and it was a shame our time was ruined because of this.

I had high hopes for Tavern on the Lake, especially since the location right on the lake was beautiful. Unfortunately, my experience was incredibly disappointing. We visited on Labor Day and the restaurant was severely understaffed—there was only one server for the entire place. After waiting an hour for our food, the server (who was pretty much in tears at this point) informed us that the cook had lost our ticket and never started our food. We chose to leave without eating. I would not recommend this place for dining. On the other hand, the bar looked cool and had a good selection of draft beer.
In response - I spoke with my server, who told me she was the only one working while my wife and I were dining. I left an honest review, and I just wish the owner could be honest as well. It seems the owner can't handle criticism after reading their response to my post and many others. Unfortunately, I won't be back until the owner learns something about honesty and customer service.

If you like waiting way too long between drinks in an empty place, this is for you. Train your waitresses to check on customers. I would have spent more money if the waitress came to check if we needed anything including refills on the beers. Also, update your beer list, really annoying being told you dont have something anymore thats still on the menu... after waiting for the waitress to even show up at the table.. actually just do what you want cause I wont be back anyway but at least have decent service when the food is just mediocre at best.

Our server Ryan, was fantastic. He was friendly and gave great service. We have never been here before, so wasn't sure what exactly to expect, but all of our questions were answered and he made us feel at home. Based on this experience, we will be returning!

It was extremely crowded and the noise level is headache causing. That was before the live music started that evening. Our server was hard to find and getting a water refill kept slipping his mind when asked. The food portions are very large. The appetizer of brisket poutine fries was enough to fill 2 people. The gravy on them was coagulating upon arrival. I orders the tuna tacos. They were very soggy from the coleslaw on them being placed against the corn shells. The flavors were all separate. It wasn't a pleasant dish. My date ordered a pesto chicken wrap that just lacked consistency through each bite and was bland. The atmosphere alone was enough not to return, the service was disappointing and maybe it was just the one server. The food solidified not returning as well as it being over priced.

Service was terrible waited over an hour and a half for our food was there for a total of two and a half hours got our order wrong and food was not good.this is the second time our service has sucked I will not be back.
