We went to Chicken Place when we were in town and let me tell you, those German fries are to die for! My husband loved his fried chicken and my VERY picky chicken tender loving son gave a very enthusiastic TWO THUMBS up. He still talks about them and wishes we were closer so he could have them all the time. And Kristie, our waitress, well she’s a hot dish too! Loved her. Cute lil spot. 10/10 recommend! We would definitely make this a weekly spot if we lived close.

Cannot beat the chicken place! German potato salad, organ trail, and schooners!

The place was busy but not packed. We set in the bar area at a table. We had to wait for a table to be cleaned to be seated (3 tables were dirty). Drinks came fast (at first), but food did not. We waited around 40 minutes before our food arrived. The chicken was a disappointment. ? Our chicken breasts were dry & laking any flavor. The German fried potatoes were partly burt. They were out of hearts, so we were bummed. My husband got the slaw & said it was wonderful.
The building is old & decently clean for a building of that age. They do need to make some cosmetic updates. Especially with the ceiling tiles.
The employees were nice. They just didn't communicate well with the bartender.

Dry,unseasoned chicken. Big disappointment based on what I've been told.

Best chicken I've ever had they got my order wrong but apologized and give me what I ordered for free, I would've paid three times the amount for half the quality of food and service

I have been here many times over many years. As a matter of fact I taught school in Ireland in the old school that was located just behind the restaurant in 1970-71. I am only in the area 1 time a year now. I must say that the chicken was fairly bland tonight from the way I remember it. Still tasty, but definitely missing something. The German fries and green beans were tasty however.

I normally only review when I can give 5 stars across the board. Everyone works hard here and it is a neat place. It is like a time capsule to another era. They did everything right it is just that the chicken has very little flavor. It is not well seasoned and definitely doesn't have 11 herbs and spices. We are traveling and searching for the best fried chicken in the U.S. and this place is not in the top ten. I still liked the restaurant and the people.

Chicken was dry, crunchy exterior, but the meat inside was dry and lacking flavor. The greenbeans were delicious, and the baked potatoes were okay, a little warm, not hot, but edible. Waitress was nice and sweet.

Still the best chicken in Southern Indiana. It is an institution, one very much worth visiting. Brings back lots of childhood memories

Just had dinner there last night. Fantastic. Didn't disappoint. Connie made you feel like you came to her house for supper. We had chicken with the fixings and amazing!! Many choices on the menu. Also full bar. You have to give it a try!!

I ranked this place high because the service was great and it is a neat restaurant. It is like a time capsule to another era. We are traveling and pursuing the best chicken in the U.S. but their chicken would not make our top ten. It just does not have much flavor. It was cooked right but unseasoned and definitely did not have 11 herbs and spices. We still liked the restaurant but were a,little let down with bland chicken. The gizzards were great but should be served with gravy.

We have eaten here in the past and it has been good, but it has gone drastically downhill since the last time we were here. None of the food was the same temperature—the fries were ice cold, some of the chicken lukewarm and some so hot you couldn’t touch it—and they brought out some chicken that had a puddle of barely warm grease surrounding it.

The waitress struggled a lot. She couldn’t keep track of orders or drinks. She brought the wrong drinks (and did not correct them), then brought the wrong food despite our orders being written down correctly, as evidenced by the tickets she gave us when it was time to pay. I had to get up and get our own silverware and even delivered some to another table because they had food in front of them but nothing to eat it with.

It was an incredibly poor experience and we won’t go back, which is disappointing because this was a great place just a couple of years ago.

Waited over an hour for our food. Gizzards and tenders were good. Fries were cold and my wife's baked potato you could have used to play baseball. Service was slow, never came back to see if we needed anything. Had to ask twice for our check

Have been to this place many times, this one did not disappoint. Angie was great! Loved the grilled cheese. Ignore my email, I’m using an account I don’t usually use ? but my point still stands.
