We just tried BON VIET for the first time today and I have to say, it was great! The food is absolutely delicious! I got the Mongolian Stir Fry and my girlfriend got the Coconut Chicken Curry. Both were amazing and we cant wait to go back and try more of the food!

Fantastic place in La Porte, Indiana. My wife and I bring family or out of town visitors here, and we often come together for a nice night out. We both love a spicy pho (soup with various cuts of beef). I also love a bahn mi sandwich (pork on a baguette). These are at all great Vietnamese places. What's great about bon Viet is it has the things you would expect at a Vietnamese restaurant (and those are great), but it also has some unique things Ive never had (lemongrass bbq and more). And this is all I a cute corner diner (motif) with lots of plants.
Great spot.
Must try

Had a great experience with my fiancée and son. The pho broth was amazing, banh mi must had been my favorite though which surprised me. The spring rolls were so good as well, I tried my son’s salmon and it blew my mind, total flavor bomb with the sauce it had. We enjoyed everything we had and the vibes were inviting, friendly, and relaxed. Big fans of the plants. Our server was really friendly and seemed like she loved her job, and the owner Ty was also really cool and friendly. Can’t wait to come back.

Immaculate vibes and delicious food! This place has been on our list to try for a while and I am delighted my family and I finally had the chance to make the drive out from Portage and try it.

The owner Tu greeted us with a warm welcome. He was so passionate and informative when giving a brief intro to the menu. Our server Hailey was cheerful and excited about the food she was serving - you can tell she really loves working here. The overall vibes of the restaurant were so warm and inviting with a clean and bright atmosphere. The dozens of plants were beautifully kept. Towards the end of the meal we chatted with Tu and he shared some tidbits about how many of the recipes have been in his family for generations and you can just feel the passion his family has for sharing good food.

As for the food: We tried the Duck Bao buns (not pictured oops they didnt last long), the Spring Rolls, pork belly Banh Mi, Beef Pho, and the Saigon Salmon. Everything was truly delicious and prepared perfectly. We love Phò and this broth was one of the best I've had!! Very flavorful it didn't even need any extra sauce added. The Bahn Mi was perfectly crunchy and packed with flavor. The House Fish sauce was a flavor punch and a perfect pairing to the hearty Saigon Salmon filet. All the portions were generous and they didn't skimp on any of the additions like fresh Thai Basil, Cilantro, Jalepeno, Lime, and Sprouts.

Overall splendid will definitely be back!

The quality and freshness of the food and its ingredients are very good I enjoy the flavors and the variety.

I do have an objection, the value could be better.

The portions are relatively small, particularly the amount of protein in each dish. This would be ok if prices were 10-20% lower, but at these prices I expect a bigger meal, or enough for some leftovers.

This is a great place. The food was amazing but alittle overpriced for what you get($15-17 for sandwich with no sides?) Only major negative was the service was slow(got food before drinks then never saw waitress again)
It's worth a stop

Haley the server was personable and considerate. All order requests were taken with precision. We had a fine personal interaction as well. Customer service was outstanding.

The ambiance is elegant and classy yet intimate enough for comfort.

And when it comes to the food, the flavors vibrant and the meals are delicious.

We had a very enjoyable dining experience.

Went to lunch with my partner, came in and immediately got a table. Ordered the red rise cocktail, dumplings, banh mi sandwich, and Vietnamese bbq. Everything was delicious and well seasoned, the dumplings were super crunchy, and the portions were really good for the price. Highly recommend and will be coming back.
