The man who works here is super friendly, helpful, and runs everything himself! The food is incredible—you have to try the sope! The place is a little run-down, but the food completely makes up for it! This place is a must-visit in La Porte!
The reason id give this place a five star is because you’d judge a book by its cover. El cantarito opened up and it’s bigger and the food taste ideally good until you go back there and realize that the service is terrible. No one is managing the place and it seems they only cater to certain crowds if you pay attention well enough. The same day I said el cantarito was the new best spot I got food poisoning from ordering the taco trip with different meats and multiple people...
The food is amazing and the restaurant is a nice little quaint place. But it's so hard to get food from here. They never open on time, and on multiple occasions, I've gone while they were open, open sign on and everything, just to be greeted to a locked door. Love the authentic Mexican food here, but it's just so hard to get it, seems.
