We stopped by here on our way home and absolutely loved the food! It was delicious! The restaurant itself isn't the nicest place but it doesn't matter when the food is this good. Our service was average at best. We asked our waitress for more chips and salsa and she never brought out. We ended up asking someone else and they brought it out. There were only 2 other people dining in the restaurant so there's no excuse to not have better service. There were also kids that were related to the employees running all around and at one point ended up in the booth with my wife which almost caused me to leave. They finally realized the kids were climbing all over my wife and they took them into the back. With all this being said we would absolutely return to Esmeralda's because the food was so good!

Hidden gem. On graduation day at Indiana Wesleyan University, our family typically has lunch at another local favorite. As it was going to be an hour-long wait, we Googled elsewhere. Esmerelda's popped up. Called ahead to check on wait time. No wait & tables for a party of 10 were ready for us when we walked in. Friendly, great service. Food was excellent. There was no rush on our family time.
