This place needs to be busier than it was. I loved the atmosphere of this place. Exceptional service by such a sweet lady. We ordered the applewood smoked wings and fried guacamole as appetizers and they were good! I ordered an 8oz sirloin and twice baked potato and coleslaw. Super delish! I ordered steak medium and it seemed like it should have been slightly more pink, but not that big of a deal to even be an actual complaint as it still had great flavor. My sons kid plate chicken Alfredo was delicious he said and we tried some too. Kid meal came with free ice cream. Thank you! If we weren’t from Houston I’d say we’d be back many times again.

The mill is tucked away in a rather unexpected part of Marion. A city not synonymous with quality or upper class. And yet there is the mill. A homey establishment with a breathtaking river view. A date with the wife is what lead me here and it was a fantastic experience. The staff was attentive and kind anytime I felt I needed the server she was there right away. We opted for balcony seating which was well worth it. Some anti bug and dusting of the railing would go a long way but I cant fault the establishment for that during the fall season. The food was worth the price. I opted for a burger and everything from the onions to the fries was fresh and full of flavor. The meat was seasoned proportionatley and the natural bacon bits they opt for instead of actual strips was a surprise that worked well with the other ingrediants. The sweet tea was fresh and the wife gave the salmon and broccoli high praise. So what prevents a full 5 star? The general outdoor cleanliness and location (as in neighborhood) prevent this resturant from being what the food would imply and although the food blows all chain resturants out of the water nothing left me particularly wowed. It was all right where it needed to be. I would recommend this resturant to anybody looking for a great visual experience and good service and food for the price. However there is always room for improvement. Well done and will come back.

Overall, the best description of our experience is "mixed signals." A beautiful historic building with potential to be a nice restaurant. The menu also suggests a finer dining experience with options like "market price" steaks. The wait staff were kind and pleasant, but our waitress wasn't able to answer simple questions like what kind of soup they had. The food came out and was solidly okay. Not great, and a bit disappointing based on menu and environment. Steak was overcooked and under-seasoned, all of the sides were "canned" and not elevated in any way. The most egregious part is the price for the experience. The "market price" for a very mediocre ribeye was far too high.

Was any of the food bad? No. Was the waitress bad? No. Was anything bad? No. But was anything better than average at best? No.

My husband and I took our daughter here for her birthday. The place is very cool and the people are great. I had the patty melt and it was terrific! The fries are great too. Try them out!

Converted old grist Mill. Live music when we were there. Wonderful food and atmosphere. A fitness park right across from it.

The mystery is why isn't this place the most popular joint in Marion? Good food, great service in a well decorated vibrant atmosphere. Sitting on the banks of the river in a historic building, I think this is a diamond in the rough. I also think they are one signature dish away from enormous success..I will drive here from Indy just to do this again
