We had a blast here! We were given the best spot for a beautiful view of the river and sunset while we dined, both the hostess and server were beyond hospitable and friendly, and we thoroughly enjoyed our food and drinks. We tried a few different cocktails and appetizers, the stuffed mushrooms and firewater glazed smoked wings were amazing. We also loved the garlic cheese curds and bruschetta. We're from out of town but whenever we're in the area again we plan to return - this place is an absolute gem and we loved the ladies working there. Thank you!

2/10 stars. I got the Ribeye dinner. The steak was tough even tho it was medium rare, tough like a cheap Walmart steak. It had 0 flavor other than burnt/charred taste like they never clean their grill. There's a big difference between fire flavor and not cleaning ur grill flavor. Green beans straight from a can, were gross. Mashed potatoes weren't bad but didn't taste the best. Bob Evans at the grocery store is 10 times better at making mashed potatoes. oh and the best part.. my salad was soggy/wet. I am sure they saw that and still served it to us anyway. I thought it was a glob of guacamole ontop because it was so wet. Dont go here. I have full regret. went on a Wednesday night- only one car in the parking lot.

What a gem on the river in Marion!!! Check it out - beautiful old mill on the banks of the Mississineaw River. The atmosphere, the service and the food were amazing. We had the stuffed mushrooms, Chicken Stir Fry and the Salmon. All perfectly prepared! This place needs to be busier!!!

We laid my father-in-law to rest today at 2:00 at the Marion National Cemetery and wanted a place to go for a meal with our family afterwards. I called a couple of weeks ago and asked if they could take a party of 10 at 3:00 when they open. They said absolutely. We get there today about 2:50 pm and they had already opened for us. We were the only people in the whole place and our service and food was delicious! They said they would make sure to have staff ready to go and they delivered! We enjoyed reminiscing about our loved ones and spending time together as a family. A huge thank you to everyone at Firewater Mill for making our day so special.

The food was pretty good, especially for the price. Very polite staff to the food could have been trash, and i would have still given it a good rating just bc the atmosphere and politeness of the staff. Society lacks respect now a days and here they were super polite and respectful. Definitely check it out.

Don’t go on the busiest night of the year and expect 5 star service. Every time i’ve been I’ve had things just as I would expect. Good food & good service.

Waited 25 minutes for a drink. Over and hour for an appetizer and didn't get to order a meal. Staff was very rude and not attentive.

The good things: atmosphere is not bad at all.
The bad: Service is terrible, no fault to the waitresses, but there's two waitresses in charge of waiting on 8-9 tables each. Expect to wait a terribly long time, at least on the weekends. We waited 20ish mins for refills, an hour for our appetizer, 90 mins for our salads, and two hours for our entrées. Waitresses ran their asses off and two men stood by the dumbwaiter the whole night.
Food: Also not what I expected. No prices listed for steak, fine. Ordered a 16oz ribeye, medium-rare. It came out two hours after ordering about a 1/4 inch thick and medium-well, at best. It certainly wasn't close to 16oz pre-cooked; closer to 11-12oz at best. It was charged at $40 a plate. I've paid for 40-50 dollar steaks and have gotten something 25x better, or at least have gotten a much better attempt.

TL;DR - pretty stereotypical for a small business restaurant trying to make it in this economy, especially for this area. Consider going out of town if you want at least a decent bar/grill atmosphere and want to get what you're paying for in a bar or grill atmosphere. Try Amazing Joe's in Muncie. It's what this place is trying to be similar to but it's nowhere close. Take the 35-45min drive, it'll be better than an experience here, at least on a busy weekend night. If you're going to try at all, try it on a random weeknight; perhaps then you can get timely service, but I wouldn't advise ordering beef whatsoever.

I actually went there on a date and it was over looking the river behind the restaurant. It was very cozy, and plan on going back!! I recommend going!!
