This place is closed up for good. After reading the most recent reviews ( 3 years old ) it seems that they lost the passion and ambition for running a restaurant. Too bad. With the right concept this location would rock !

The food here was always so terrible that it turned me off to Steak n Shake forever. I think it was just this particular restaurant. I think they lacked qualified chefs. justified to see it go out of business.

This store is probably the worst in the franchise. Every time we have gone we had to have our food remade or go in for items missing. Last night we stopped on our way home from a school competition and was missing 2 shakes and our sandwiches looked like sloppy Joe's,so we went in and was told every excuse of it's been busy today yet only about 10 people in the store but ok, then was told we run 30 min on our drive thru all the time and were tired. All the customers could here and see what we were complaining about and many of them agreed they have the same issues. Stay away unless you feel like dealing with lazy people who could care less about customers.

There was only 2 waiters are there was only 3 people working manager cooking and they still burnt our hamburger not once but twice and the bad news is that is our favorite places to go out it eat

Horrible every time I go. There was an extremely mouthy and rude waitress this evening that was walking around and being kurt and brash to everyone of her tables. We initially wanted to go through drive thru to get shakes and the drive thru was closed. We went inside and placed an order of 2 shakes. The manager took our order and didn't even know where any of the buttons were on his screen for our shakes. It then took over 12 minutes for us to get 2 to go shakes. One of them was even wrong when we got it but we didn't want to wait another 12 minutes for a corrected shake. Absolutely ridiculous...

Worst steak and shake experience EVER!! Do not go to this place. Food order was messed up, didn't get everything ordered, got the excuse that they were out of this and that.One mushroom swiss burger was sent out as a plain double burger with NOTHING on it...told us they were out of myshrooms... WHAT?? Food we did get was cold, it had sat for a good while. Service was horrible, you could tell she was not properly trained and when we asked for a manager it took a good 20 minutes or so for him to come to the table. Leadership means everything!! I don't think this was even the head manager, because he took $10 off the bill and said "I'm not even going to ask my boss." He said they had been busy all day and short handed. The two managers were the ones cooking and they couldn't even get it right!! If a manager can't do the workers job, they shouldn't be a manager! Sad thing is we stopped here Thanksgiving weekend and people coming out said it was very poor service so we left. Apparently giving them a second chance was the wrong thing to do. Dear Steak and Shake corporate office...this would be a good one to choose if you ever wanted to do an Undercover Boss episode!!

Restaurant was empty except for about six tables, two on their way out. Took a few minutes to get seated. Placed our order and waited while two tables that came in after us got their food to ask what was happening. Waitress just rolled her eyes at us, but did go up and ask and the young man in the back (that ran his gloved hand through his hair and didn’t re-glove) said “When it’s done.” We waited another 10 minutes and the waitress said, “They gave you a double to make up for the wait.” My entire burger was wrong, so I sent it back and asked for a new one. Got the new one and it was right but it wasn’t a double, I didn’t get the cookie or applesauce that came with it. Didn’t leave a tip, because in addition to all the problems the only time she checked on us was when we called her over, so why would we? On the way out another waitress said to us, “If you aren’t going to tip, don’t come in.” I tip very well for service that is good and this was far from that, frankly we shouldn’t have had to pay for that pile of cold slop that was wrong and took an hour to receive.
Place is closed now. Where am I supposed to get my Frisco melt? Someone please reopen Steak n Shake!

The last time my girlfriend and I went to this restaurant, we were the only 2 there later at night, besides the staff. After waiting longer than what should have been to get our order, we were then essentially ignored the rest of the almost hour or so that we were in there, except for one time when he got her a refill on her water. As we were leaving, and paying the check, the waiter then proceeded to insult my girlfriend in her gift buying for me, repeatedly, and then said if we were offended that it was our own fault. Haven't been back since then, and hopefully when they open back up they will be better prepared to serve customers.

Dont waste your time at this location. It's only open between 9 am and maybe 8pm, the rest of the time there are handwritten signs saying "sorry for the inconvenience" taped to the door. used to be my favorite place to go but I give up. Even when it is open the food is sub-par anymore, with cold fries and mediocre burgers. such a shame.

Food was hot, delicious and looked like the commercial. Sarah our server was AwEsOmE! She remembered everything...even extra mayo! Only negative was that we had to wait probably 15 minutes to be seated and another 20 to order but the rest was normal wait times!

Food was good but after we recieved our food waitress went on break and only 1 person was on the floor serving, hosting, and checking people out! NO EXCUSE a good waitress would not have taken a break and left their tables for no-one to take care of the customers well $1 tip was accurate.
