Recently moved to McCordsville and have been trying lots of different restaurants in the area. Had Trax BBQ tonight and will definitely come back. Food was delicious! Excellent BBQ and tasty sides!

Trax is our favorite place to get food for parties. It's always a big hit, even and especially among our BBQ snob friends! The sides are also amazing. I don't personally even eat meat (but my wife and our friends do), and I still love this place for the sides, sauces, and black bean burger. By far the best food option in the area!

I have been wanting to try this place since I saw that Katina Eats Kilos has done an eating challenge here & I saw it was only 20 mins from me. My husband said he was craving BBQ & I remembered this place! & thank goodness, I did!!! We ordered online for pickup & the estimated time was 45 minutes & it was ready when we got there! We ordered a 1/4 sheet pan with brisket, ribs, & sausage. It comes with pickles, a smaller side of Trax Slaw & Texas toast. We chose mac & cheese and the new charros beans with bacon as our sides. For sauces, we got Old Yeller, Red Hog, & Mccordsville Hot. We got the Smokeshack & Derailed hot sauces too. We added on a side of hush puppies because my husband loves them. We also ordered a side of beer mustard. We checked the containers before we left & we had everything we ordered & a couple of extra sauces we weren’t expecting! Once we got home, we tried everything together, starting with the Trax slaw! It was perfectly vinegary & creamy, as well as, nicely seasoned. Next, the mac & cheese! They use my favorite pasta (cavatappi)! The flavor was so good & it was super creamy. The charro beans & bacon has this AMAZING smokey flavor & richness. The beans still had some bite so they made sure they weren’t an overcooked mush mess, which we appreciated. The hush puppies had pieces or corn & some kind of pepper (I thought jalapeño, but could’ve been poblano). It came with this side of gravy, which we weren’t expecting. My husband loved these, while hush puppies aren’t really my thing, but the gravy dip made them 1000x better for me. The Texas toast was crispy on one side & soft and buttery on the other. It was seasoned great & even better when I dipped it in the hush puppy gravy. Once we got to the meats, we did have to reheat them slightly, but we had a 20 minute car ride home & however long it took for us to try all of the sides before we got to them. That was an our fault thing. No problem a couple of seconds in the microwave can’t fix. We started with the sausage, which was cut into bite sized pieces, when we go back, I’m going to request them to not do that. We just prefer to do that ourselves & it honestly didn’t affect anything except maybe heat retention. The snap & juiciness of these sausages are INSANE! By themselves, they were the best sausage I’ve ever had. We then dipped in the beer mustard (we had ordered 1 side & got 2 by mistake) & THIS WAS THE BEST BITE ON THE ENTIRE TRAY!!!! The beer mustard was such a depth of flavors! At first taste, it was sweet, almost like a honey mustard, & then the mustard kick really came through. It wasn’t super spicy or anything, but it was just so developed with its flavor profile. The ribs were FALL OFF THE BONE tender. We started plan & LOVED the seasonings & smokey flavor. We then tried with all sauces! Red Hog was my favorite for the ribs, while my husband liked the Mccordsville Hot better. The brisket, we got mixed for our preference, & it was exactly what we asked for. Without sauce, it was buttery and seasoned to the nines! I preferred it with Mccordsville Hot & my husband with Red Hog. For sauces: Unless you’re a child or you just really like super sweet BBQ sauces, I wouldn’t waste my time with Old Yeller. Red Hog & Mccordsville Hot are equally delicious & pair well with different things depending on preferences of meat & spice levels. Smokeshack was probably the most disappointing part of our meal. We love jalapeño & poblano peppers, as well as hot sauce, but it was just flat out not good. Derailed, however, was delicious & rather spicy, which we both love! If you like spice, you’ve GOT to try this!!! All & all, this place is AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS! The fact that out of everything we ordered, the only things we wouldn’t order again are 2 sauces, I think we can live with that. 1000000/10 WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! Thanks Katina Eats Kilos for putting this place on my radar!!

Wonderful BBQ, wonderful service and atmosphere. I've had the best BBQ in all the known regions; Memphis, KC, Carolina, TX. Traxx is definitely a place you should visit when in Indy.

Very down-the-middle in every sense. As far as what I ordered (pulled chicken, sausage, brisket, baked beans, potato salad), the only thing that stood out was the sausage link. None of the other items were bad, but they just gave the "meh" reaction. The sauces were surprisingly not great either, which is largely due to them all being vinegar based. Again, not bad but not great.

The setting is fun, though. A good rustic country vibe. And it has an open connection to a local brewer at the back of the building. Biggest issue of the place, by far, is the parking. Of which, you'll be lucky to find. I had to park across the street at a site that (at this time) is under construction.

All said & done, Trax BBQ is OK. Definitely worth a try at least once.

Hands down the best smoked meat in Indiana. Every time we eat there it’s a great experience. The flavor of ALL food items are perfect. They have an open and clean kitchen. Serve Safe rules look strictly enforced. Don’t pass up the green beans!

The food is fantastic with service to get it being just as good. Being from out of town, this is a place worthy of a road trip to share this experience with my family.

I love trying new BBQ places. I don't even really know where we were, the West side of Indy, I believe. The wife suggested we go here since we love BBQ. It was a home in the wall, but those are the places that can make the best BBQ. I'm glad we went. Service was awesome. They were really friendly. Since we had never been there, the lady explained the menu and how to order. They had a wide variety of options to pick from. I could feel a mix of different styles of BBQ types. A good variety of meats, sandwiches, and sides. We went with 1/4 tray, which feeds my 9 year old and I. We were able to pick 3 meats and 2 sides and came with pickles, texas toast, and coleslaw. My wife got one of the sandwiches, which was a Carolina style. They asked if we wanted our brisket fatty or lean. That was awesome. Usually, I'm just given what we get. Food had good flavor. Good smoke. I thought it might have been burnt, but it was actually just a good flavor and crust. The ribs were really good. Not fatty, brisket had good flavor, and the pulled pork had some dust to it that gave it a little kick. I hope to be back if we're in that area again.

We went to Trax through Fox 59 and a dine for half certificate. It started badly as somehow we didn't the 2 certificates printed - however thanks to a terrific employee named " Trey" ee were able to secure the second certificate from the phone and e- mail.
Through the confusion somehow our order got pushed aside so after 20 minutes without our food I went to the counter and once again "Trey" fixed it and 5 min later we had our food. The food was terrific including the brisket, pulled pork and ribs. The sides were on point and the portions are out of this world. After 20 min of eating the best bbq this year we were on our way with 2 great big to go bags and a whole sack of sauces. Cudos to Trax and their great employees! Some photos taken from the craft brewery connected.
