I dined here when they first opened, so maybe I should try it again now they are established. Nonetheless, the food was decent for what you paid. Nothing spectacular and will be hard to compete with some of the local alternative choices we have. There really wasn't anything amazing to look back on from dining here. The biggest thing that surprised me was the placed called Agave Mansion only had a few selections of agave tequila, and attempted to sell the overpriced and overhyped clase azul. That kind of bothered me because if you're going to play the game of a tequila heaven , then do it with something worth paying for.

Good food Pleasant staff. Margarita was just right. We will return. Especially in the summer to enjoy outdoor dining

Very slow service, roughly an hour and a half before we got our food. Even after politley asking about it. almost positive they forgot about us and when we got it... it was slightly disappointing. Between undercooked and overcooked all on the same plate. I've never left a bad review anywhere, but it was a bad enough experience to warrant one. Waitress was super nice at least, still left her a good tip.

Highly recommended on Yelp, though I had to make a reservation so I did, but it wasn't necessary. Was seated but wasn't asked or served water until after about 15 minutes. Ordered wings and one was raw and frozen. Waitress told manager about incident who charged me for substitute and never came over to apologize. My meal should've been free.

Came on a Sunday evening, place wasn't busy. Our waiter was very kind and efficient. Started with the chips and salsa. My boyfriend who is extremely picky with the texture of his salsa LOVED the salsa. We ordered the taco salad with steak and the elote/ poblano taco. I'm not a vegetarian but holy crap the elote/poblano taco was SO SO SO good. There was so much of the filling I ended up scooping up the extra with the yummy chips! I went for the watermelon Fresca margarita with the Tajin on the rim... SO DELICIOUS! The taco salad was enormous and everything was incredibly fresh. I would absolutely recommend this place! They even let you make reservations on tock. Which I'm sure is helpful on Friday/Saturday nights. Wish we lived in the area but will definitely visit when we come back!

Outdoor seating was nice, but food was fairly average and our cocktails were less than average. Mostly why this is a three star was our service. We waited so long for just an app and drinks that we got our meals to go. Then after we got our food we waited another 10 minutes to be checked out... We honestly could have just walked off with our food. It was late but we got there well before close, but they were so focused on closing they neglected their guests.

Was served cold raw wings, they took those back without charging but charged for the replacement app. First time and last time here, no one even apologized.

The music was great! Matt, our server was incredibly kind and attentive. The food was decent, it was appealing to the eye as far as presentation and tasty! We started off with the basics but the Ceviche was delicious and I'd definitely go back to try more entrees .

Have been here three times and will keep coming back. It is one of the better establishments along the shoreline, definitely worth a detour from the highway, in the Michelin sense. Bourdain would have liked it. This restaurant will do much to help the renaissance of downtown Michigan City. Menu ingredients are inspired and the kitchen quality is very high. There are some negatives and imperfections. Mole is missing from the menu, but one hopes it will be added. There are some growing pains and they need to work out the bar seating and service. Bar service was so poor as to be distracting. Bartender treats server and dining customers poorly. It took the bartender 10-20 mins to serve simple bottled beers in a restaurant with about 15 customers. We wanted to order a margarita but never got the margarita we were billed for. The waitress eventually gave up on even trying to ask for a drink order. The bartender was too much of an a-ho for such a good restaurant.

Another great addition to MC! Great nachos, authentic tacos (love the Al Pastor), good burritos and margaritas are also spot on. Base margaritas are very good and they have plenty of varieties of nice tequilas. Place is clean, large, service is very good, and although not yet experienced it, hear there is music on Friday? nights. Definitely worth a visit and I've now become a repeat customer. Compared to Mucho Mas, I like both, but would say Agave has more of a clean authentic setting (for dates or entertaining) while Mucho Mas is more Cali/Baja Mexican if you're very casual or just want good, quick takeout. Love them both and frequent both depending on the mood.

So awesome! We have been several times. Huge portions, delicious fresh quality ingredients, tasty strong drinks and fun live music. We haven't sat outside yet but that's definitely on our to do list. Can't say enough good things about this place. Michigan City keeps getting better and better!
